DJU was certainly a part of the problem. Klubnick may or may not be better, and Riley may or may not be better than Streeter. But with the receiving corps failing to catch on yet again (none of them can seem to run a route for separation), and the offensive line issues, it's hard to tell.

At this point in the season DJU would have bounced 20+ screen passes to the receiver. When Klubnik did it yesterday, I'm pretty sure it was the first time.

I feel pretty strongly that complacency had set in up and down the staff and players. And that's on CDS to fix. Let's see what he does next.

Some positives looking forward (writing off this season). Kicking woes should be solved so long as that commit stays with us, so no more empty red-zone trips (short of turnovers). COVID years are pretty well over for most of the players--I think we had 7 players opt to stay on this year, so recruiting class sizes should stabilize, and provide opportunities to use the portal. I'm confident that once there are actually open scholarships, CDS will begin to use it, even though I still think the portal is not some magical panacea of free agents that will fix all the problems.

The team has certainly been snake-bit this year with turnovers and scores off of turnovers (pretty much the story of every loss has been we outplayed the other team on the field so long as we didn't turn it over, and when we did turn it over it was for a score...some 14-point swings). Sadly, that tends to feed on itself as "Don't fumble" as an active thought in one's brain screws a player up.
