Continue to hear this bs from sad, annoying posters. Players don't develop under brownell and brownell hasn't improved this program during his tenure.
Quick question...... which roster do you think is better?
Pg: Andre young - sr
SG: Tanner Smith - Jr
SF: Bryan narcisse - sr
PF: Milton Jennings - Jr
C: Devin booker - Sr
Bench: rod hall fr, catelin baciu sr, kj mcdaniels fr.
Or......
PG: Chase Hunter - super senior
SG: Joe Girard
SF: Jack Clark or rj godfrey
PF: Ian schef
C: PJ Hall
Bench: Alex Hemenway super senior, rj godfrey soph, Chauncey Wiggins soph, Dillon hunter soph, josh beadle soph, bas Leyte super senior.
I would argue that every single one of our starters for this year is better than starters in brownell's year 2. The bench is significantly better as well.
Yet posters choose to ignore facts and spew bs.

What fact are we ignoring. This is literally an opinion post. And is totally irrelevant to his 2/12 performance making the NCAA tournament when not saddled with the team Purnell left him with which you obviously think was terrible. You realize we are 13 years removed from Purnell and yet you are still making an argument that held no water then and is completely irrelevant now. Oh, Fire Brad!

You do realize 2 things can be true at once right? Losing to morehead state to end the year really sucked. Alternatively brownell has improved the talent on our roster.

Winning is the point at the end of the day. Coaches are judged by wins and loses. This isn’t little league where as long as everyone is having fun then we are all winners. No one cares about the talent on paper because we are still losing to teams we have no business and we aren’t making the NCAA tournament.
Also it wouldn’t be like this if this was BB 5th year, but it’s been 13 years. By now we know who the man is. He’s a mediocre coach who will never get us to be more than mediocre with an occasional good season.

and you and others start trying to move the goalposts. All of a sudden, it isn’t about wins because the ACC is awful, our non-conference schedule was awful, and we lost in the first round of the NIT.
Just admit it, some of you will do everything you can to criticize Brownell and undermine the program. You can’t acknowledge a good year last year, an improved team, or a successful offseason. That’s really sad.

You're right. No coach at Clemson has had as many acc wins in a single season. Why don't you judge him on those wins and losses? Nope, you are picking and choosing which games to judge.

Now he has to prove he can do it, because all we have to go on at Clemson is the last 13 years & Wilmington before that.
I hope that he can coach these guys to the NCAA and win some games.

You’re fundamentally unserious. 2/12. 3/13. Zero players in the NBA. These are facts. Another fact is that, as measured by SRS or RPI (net hasn’t been around long enough), we are not on an upward trajectory. His entire tenure is virtually a flat line with two outlier data points.

Last year's team was great, until they weren't. First place in the ACC, all alone...until the final third of the schedule. You made the mistake of thinking they reached the promised land much too early in the season. Now you're projecting a great team before a game is played. Brad's history says otherwise.

I think an argument can be made for Young, but it's close.
Tanner Smith was a hard nosed guy. I expect Girard to be better from what I've heard, but I'd like to see him in our system and see how he plays D.
Again, I liked ol' goggles over Clark, but I hope Godfrey proves to be better than both.
Milton over Ian even though he never met our expectations. I do like Ian's hustle and knack around the basket. I hope that's who he is and not something that gets shutdown with more film
I love PJ, but Booker was good as well. Two different styles. I think PJ definitely translates better in the current style of play with the importance of the 3 point shot.
All that being said, I can pick many other years that clearly show a digression from previous years, but it's counterproductive.
I want Clemson basketball to be successful. It is not impossible to be better, but it will be difficult if we don't make some changes. Whether that's a new coach is above my pay grade.

- I like chase hunter more than Andre young. Young was undersized, but he could shoot the 3
- Joe Girard is an upgrade over Tanner smith. Tanner was an inconsistent shooter.
- Jack Clark is a HUGE upgrade over narcisse. It's not even close
- Milton Jennings vs Schef is a tough one. I do think Schef has a higher ceiling and better basketball iq. I'll call this one a wash.
- pj hall is an upgrade over booker.
The bench isn't even close. We have a WAY better bench on this year's team that year 2

That top team (even though your class years are wrong unless you’re doing a mix-and-match) returned 3 starters from an NCAA tournament team, but also lost 6 games before ACC player. That’s pretty hard to play yourself out of tournament contention that quickly.
