It's looking great today. It's only down 2.5% since he came into office. We're getting there.

It's still down though. It will be less funny when the S&P 500 goes up 6 more percent to break even. Then maybe it will become profitable. Maybe another 2 months?

It’s not going to make up the decline in 2 weeks but it has come back a long way. 2 months? Maybe? Years end you will be happy. I’m all in. I pay no attention to market annual fluctuations. Naive is a great quality in investing. That’s a fact. Just turn off the noise , stay invested and it’s all good.

If youve got lots of runway, thats absolutely true.

No guarantee we will be happy at year’s end. There’s an equal chance we will be in a recession. If Trump goes and plays a lot of golf like he did in his first term we will be in a better spot. If he actually tries to put the thoughts in his lizard brain into action, we are likely in trouble.

The S&P is still pretty down. Let's see what happens over the next 6 months. Looks like a lot of economic problems are looming.

You talking about Tesla only going up or the market? I don’t own any Tesla. Well I’m sure I probably do within some of the mutual funds. But as for the market only going up, well , history says yes it’s going up again. Remember 2008? That was a real crash!! What happened for investors who stayed the course and bought stocks? I bought a crap load when it was down 50%! People told me I was crazy then. Hmm??

Q2 and Q3 earnings results are gonna be rough and the market will take notice. Many of the products that are sold in the next few months should have been on a boat by now and they aren’t. With lower revenues companies are gonna fell pressure to placate Wall Street by cutting costs which means we’ll likely see a contraction of payrolls as well.

You might be right. I certainly will not say you’re wrong. But here’s my investing philosophy and it’s been this way for 4 decades. I do not care if I buy sticks next week and they go down in value over the next several months. I just buy companies that you’re 15 year old has heard of and pay good dividends. I also buy mutual funds and let the “smart guys” figure out all the trends. I just don’t make it political with investing. My financial planner that I have been with for decades broke me of that. When the market crashed in 2008 I did not sell but I was worried. He kept saying buy stocks dummy. He said the same during the bear of 2022. Y’all can go figure out all the economic and political stuff. I’ll just keep buying, holding , and find a good hiking trail somewhere. It’s worked extremely well for me over 4 decades of investing. Buddy of mine said to me “you know a lot about investing obviously”. I told him “ I don’t know crap. I just know how to buy and turn off the news”.

Be afraid when everyone else is brave and brave when everyone else is afraid. I just don't think we're near the bottom I'm looking for the S&P to get near the 4500 range. All we've seen is fear selling the fundamentals are about to drop off of the table and bring with em a wrecking ball

Total US stock market is down ~8% since his inauguration. It went on a run after Trump paused many tariffs. That’s Wall Street hoping the pause becomes permanent. If he stays on this course, our economy will enter recession.

It’s still a thing.

I don’t know what “narrative” the Trumpers are talking about.

The stock market, the S&P 500, is quantitative. There is no narrative.
