That the team has been off all week. History has shown me Brownell is a terrible coach when it comes to keeping his team focused over long breaks and his teams usually come out flat, unprepared, and extremely rusty.
Hopefully they can get going quick and keep it close to have a chance at the end. Free throws are a must have in this game.

I think , or at least I would hope, that’s not the case when preparing for a road game at dook. If players can’t be focused for that there’s a big problem.

Win loss record has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. But you morons get so hung up on quantifiable stats you have no sense of what good qualitative coaching measures are.
Furthermore Brownell lacks in both categories so discussing him and his coaching blunders and downfalls with you simpletons is futile.

How do you determine if he is a terrible coach after a long break if your are clueless about his record in the stated situation? Most reasonable, knowledgeable fans use W/L record as a viable metric. You in the other hand are simply a “feelings” ….

BrownL degrades himself. What’s disgusting is his failure to reach meaningful or any post season play. 3-11 NCAAT and few NIT’s. He’s only made post season play around half the years coaching Clemson. He also only made the tourney with his players once. The first two were with OPP’s players.
The student athletes are not the problem. He has a pretty talented group.
Backing BrownL while expecting a different outcome is Einstein’s definition of insanity.

One would think that if brownell was so bad, the idiots wouldn't have to make up lies to bash him, but here we are.

This tactic of mentioning older seasons to try to “win” an argument, completely ignoring what’s more important - recent history.
It happens regarding Brownell and Dabo, for opposite reasons:
Dabo’s great seasons from more than several years ago are used in an attempt to minimize his underachieving years recently.
Brad get blamed for seasons from the early part of his tenure to overshadow the good seasons we’ve had more recently, including last year.
It’s a weak way to try to win an argument. Please stop.

My biggest concern is Mark Mitchell because Clemson doesn’t really have anyone that can match up with him unless Ian S. can physically frustrate him. Duke is not what they use to be but are still much more talented than we are. Clemson has to play one of their best defensive games of the year and start making some threes.

Duke is ranked 12th in the nation. They were 7th before losing to pitt when 2 of their starters were out. This notion that duke is down is silly, and is only thrown around to bash the ACC and in turn minimize wins and amplify losses from brownell.

Yes. Duke is deliberately being not as good to make Brad look even worse. This is how deep the hate runs. I love that basketball expert CM think Scheyer isn’t even skipping a beat from Coach K. Duke hadn’t finished unranked in 13 years until Coach K retired in 2021. Their average rank over that spread was 7th. Scheyer has a 9th place finish, then a 12th, and they’re currently 12th. If they lose today they will obviously drop further. It’s a downward trend by definition but somehow also a conspiracy.

Can you give some specific examples on failures after long layoffs? Maybe one has scarred you more than others.
I’m showing that Brownell has a 55% winning percentage in ACC games after a 6+ day layoff. Slightly better than his overall ACC winning % of 49%.
Maybe you are just expecting more overall, but the stats do not support your statement. And there are plenty of stats given the number of years.

Extracting this was fairly simple thanks to “ sports-reference.com” data. I went back to Locke, so data since 70/71.
I specifically used ACC data in this case because the overall figure was even better and probably included some crap teams after fall breaks..

That’s great! Figured they must have something like that, but it could save several folks a lot of grief by checking here before making a blanket statement without even an outlier data point to back up their thoughts. Including me.
After 14 years, there are plenty of data points. Cherry picking the weak ACC stuff or not.
I am disappointed that “uniform color” is not a sortable option.
