It's certainly worth questioning what's going on in the coaches heads, putting the kid in when the game's already out of hand only to yank him after one bad play.

Talk about getting jerked around. If I was his daddy I'd be asking if maybe the portal isnt worth a look.

Seems clear to the world that DJU is a straight up crap shoot in terms of which version's gonna show up from game to game.

Not sure why Dabo doesn't see that or maybe he does and DJU's the best option.

But if DJU's the best option that's depressing.

In the end though it's just college football. It's not like civilization depends on it. Although it sure feels like it sometimes!

Our coaches do not make decisions based on one player and most certainly not what one player thinks. Coaches coach to win games and Dabo remembered that we came back in the Syracuse game when the offense needed a jolt and Cade went in. If an offense ever needed a jolt it was Saturday night but all we got was another kick in the gut. When it is Cade's time, it will be his time.

Unless you're a Clemson coach, I don't think you can say what they are thinking or what goes into their decision making process. And I don't think you're a Clemson coach.
My point was that what happened to Cade on Saturday might could (and likely would) shake even the most grounded player's confidence and leave a bad impression on parents and, for that matter, recruits.

It could happen, but not likely. We are talking about competitive sports. Kids and parents with that mentality ("shaken") usually bow out of competitive sports by 9th grade.

I would argue that most high school programs have competition to not only make the team, but to make first string. Cade would be conditioned to this level of competition.

I'm not saying I agree with Cade's lack of opportunity last Saturday night, but I doubt he would be crushed by the coach's decision to pull him after one series.
