This will be UGA's first opponent with a pulse (albeit a weak pulse). I think the Dawgs will be dialed in and this one will get sideways quickly, just like last year.

Remember, Dak Joyner is still on the coots’ roster.
He is the third string QB that beat y’all back in 2019. I think he’s fourth string this year though.
Surely the dawgs can’t lose to a 4th stringer.

I'd disagree it was Dak Joyner's 39 passing yards and 28 rushing yards that beat UGA. Four turnovers (includeing a pick 6) and two missed field goals (by a guy who eventually won the Groza Award) beat UGA.

He did enough to keep them from losing. Tip of the hat to him for that.

There's a lot to say about how someone, or how a program, responds to adversity. That upset was one of those "stake in the ground" or "moment in time" games. Since that game, UGA has gone 45-4 overall. Those 45 wins are the most in the country over that time. And those 4 losses are the fewest in the country as well. And of those 4 losses, one we avenged to win the NC, and the other three were to two National Champions and a Division Champion. 4 losses in nearly 4 years. Since that upset, we have not lost at home - winning 20 straight in Athens. We have gone 6-0 in Bowl games, counting all CFP games. We have gone 6-0 vs Non-Conference Top 10 opponents (plus #11 Oregon). Even counting that upset, we've still won 7 of the last 8 vs USC - all by blowout. So that game serves as a very definitive reference point in the history of UGA football. Thanks for bringing it up!

It's a bit of a stretch. But it is understandable: it's hard to get players motivated for every game so I imagine head coaches use what they can to try and fire them up.

If you can't get your team motivated for your first opponent ranked within the top 100 then what are you doing?

I hope the coots keep it close, and its an ugly game with a lot of turnovers, but UGA squeaking by. maybe knock them off that top spot

I hope the gamecocks lose so many games in a row that it becomes financially infeasible to keep their football program going, and they have to shut it down completely, like UAB did.
