The Meyers-Briggs usually classifies me as INTJ or INTP. This time it says I'm an INFJ. Guess it depends on your mood when you take the test, or maybe some tests are better than others.

Probably would be about 50/50 for each personality type. I would guess they just are expressed for different causes.

Myers-Briggs is not supposed to predict the future.
Aug 8, 2014, 9:58 AM
|

But it provides a lot of insight into one's personality and motivations, especially within relationships. It's been extremely beneficial for my wife and I's understanding of our similarities and differences and why we have conflict. It's also very helpful in understanding and getting along with family members. I believe that most relationships would benefit from an understanding of Myers-Briggs.
That said, these free online tests will often be wrong.

The particular test posted in the OP does not seem as good as others available online.
But, with a good test you can get a sense of how you and others are alike and how you aren't, and how that affects your relationships with others.

Nobody in here will be surprised: ENTP
Aug 7, 2014, 5:01 PM
|
|
"The ENTP personality type is the ultimate devil’s advocate, thriving on the process of shredding arguments and beliefs and letting the ribbons drift in the wind for all to see. Unlike their more determined Judging (J) counterparts, ENTPs don’t do this because they are trying to achieve some deeper purpose or strategic goal, but for the simple reason that it’s fun. No one loves the process of mental sparring more than ENTPs, as it gives them a chance to exercise their effortlessly quick wit, broad accumulated knowledge base, and capacity for connecting disparate ideas to prove their points."
I actually don't do this very often with people I actually know or in non- internet situations, but obviously it's a temptation of mine. Believe it or not, I find these kinds of arguments incredibly tiring.

INTJ personality
It’s lonely at the top, and being one of the rarest and most strategically capable personality types, INTJs know this all too well. INTJs form just two percent of the population, and women of this personality type are especially rare, forming just 0.8% of the population – it is often a challenge for them to find like-minded individuals who are able to keep up with their relentless intellectualism and chess-like maneuvering. INTJs are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, amazingly curious, but only if their interest is piqued.

Says I'm like Vladimir Putin. Kind of fascinated that they would lump Woodrow Wilson in with me and Putin. I'm afraid I don't share his level idealism.
Now the jack of all trades is pretty accurate. I consider it a curse in my working environment. Disagree with romantic relationships. I concluded long ago that you can not EVER hope to come even close to consistently analyzing a woman.

ENFP, funny how...
Aug 8, 2014, 12:06 PM

the description reads so much like feedback I have gotten over the years. Yes, even the pitfalls. Kind of feels strange knowing that I fit so tightly into a category. It's a little deflating given my need for original and creative thought. Good for the ego to be grounded now and then I suppose.

ENFPs can be both a joy and a curse. Usually very well liked but can be very frustrating at the same time.
Here's a good explanation that is spot on for my wife: http://www.personalitypage.com/ENFP.html
