why does everything in college football have to be so negative?

Yeah they are off to an amazing start and by their standards it's already an incredible season. Great story.

Don't see why we have to tear everything down.

(this isn't just about this but that I always see discourse about who is "overrated" or "fraud".)

7 wins at Indiana is very rare this time of year. Kudos to their kids. I’m sure the students are enjoying it right now. Not sure I have ever seen it.

Heck, 7 wins at Indiana had been rare for the SEASON. I hope they stay focused and slay the rest of the year.

Can’t put discourse into a box like that. Shirley you meant you put it in that box. I figured you were too busy pumping female obscure sports to notice football poasts

No idea why that even means***

Where will Cignetti go next. Florida, Bama. Southern Cal or Auburn

hopefully nowhere

Bloom where he’s planted.

I think he’s from that part of the world, so hopefully he can appreciate the area and build something no one else has been able to build. I’m pulling for them. Same sentiment for ISU and Minn.

He actually spent a fair bit of time here in NC at NCSU, Davidson, and Elon. I wonder if he would consider the tar holes job or is that a lateral move from Indiana?

I think UNC would be a bit of a step up if the

rest of the playing field were even. It's not though - he's going to have alot more money to work with at IU, and he also no longer has to contend with being in the same division with OSU, Michigan, and Penn St.

He's also 63 so he may be at the point in his career where he doesn't want to leave and start over again.

Hes got an interesting resume hes coached at 10 schools

with the longest stint 6 years as an assistant and 5 years as a HC. When he retires where does he go to watch “his” team play? Does he have a home or does he just go back to his Alma mater; where interestingly he never coached. Even in his home town of Pittsburgh he was an assistant twice but never a HC.

Coach of the Year if play continues

With a SOS ranking around 100...

2

Oct 25, 2024, 8:12 AM

A LOT of teams would be 7-0 playing that exact same schedule.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Their schedule is tougher than ours.

I am not sure by your tone, but I am not sensing sarcasm

That was my point just to be clear

2025 student level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Schedule isnt gonna get much tougher either

1

Oct 25, 2024, 8:36 AM

Other than 0310 state everyone else is absolutely mediocre; 11-1 is a real possibility

2025 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I feel like the opposite is closer to the truth

4

Oct 25, 2024, 8:45 AM

They are 7-0, just murdered Nebraska 56-7, and I don't feel like anyone is really taking them seriously at all. I'd be interested to know where you've seen all of this Indiana national title hype because I've seen absolutely none.

Good for them though. This is shaping up to be an all-time great season by Indiana standards and I hope they keep winning. I'm happy for them and I'd rather it be them than someone like Michigan.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

GameDay is there this week and I think its great IU is getting exposure

1

Oct 25, 2024, 9:09 AM

Of course ESPN will hype it up. That’s their job.

As others have said, it’s a great story so far.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

11-1 not just likely but probable. That schedule is laughably bad.

Oct 25, 2024, 9:16 AM

Be interesting to see how they hold up vs OSU. Would be epic if they somehow win that game though.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

8 home games?

Oct 25, 2024, 9:24 AM

I'd like for that to happen at Clemson.

They are a really good football team.
Watched the Nebraska game and came away impressed.

Cigarette has his team " All in " .

I expected Nebraska to be a handful because with their new QB they've been on quite a roll themselves.

Definitely a dark horse to keep an eye on.

Just a note. Michael Penix was there before leaving for Washington. He brought back renewed enthusiasm for the Hoosiers , a team that has struggled mightily over the years where Bobby Knight ruled the sports page there.

Go Hoosiers !
