At least that is a reptile in texas. Pretty cool, imo. Not many tigers roaming the wild in sc. but squierrels….. now that would be a mascot!!!

FAU used to be the Burrowing Owls. They dropped the Burrowing.
My favorite would have been one of UCF’s options. Back in the 70s they were name FTU. Since they had had become much less technical, the decided to rename the school. There were several options thrown around. One of those was University of Florida Orlando. They considered being the UFO Aliens.
