Even you? Seriously?

It's coming. I can point to several posts I made prior to the debate that said verbatim: if Joe Biden tanks at the debate he's going to get The Talk, and we're going to be looking at a brokered convention.

It's building within the Dem party now as we speak. And Joe Biden was never a dictator and was even further from being a cult of personality, he was the blandest of compromise candidates, an old slow non-threatening institutionalist who offended no one and who the vast majority of the Dems could live with.

And those last nine words are the thing everybody is missing about the biggest difference between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Donald Trump is MAGA and it completely falls apart without him. Joe is just a guy in a suit doing a job. He's always been expendable, and he's never remotely had anything resembling an iron grip on his own party.

And now he's become a liability. He's done, end of story. I'm pretty much 100% certain of it, because all you have to do is look at what he was to his party in 2020,...and what he is now.

He is no longer the compromise candidate everyone can live with. I'd be surprised if he lasts until the end of next week - my money's on Monday or Tuesday.

And there is equally just about zero chance anyone but Kamala gets the nod, for a variety of reasons. I also think if she tacks back to the middle at all and picks someone like Adam Kinzinger as her running mate, she wins in a walk as long as she doesn't completely sh!t the bed. She's a former prosecutor, and it will take no effort at all for her to make a convincing case against Donald Trump.

My money's strongly on Kamala Harris to be our next president.

Kamala will lose.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: The enemy within

Jul 3, 2024, 6:38 PM

She might, but it'd have to be her own doing. There's a huge difference in the level of scrutiny a VP faces versus the one a presidential candidate faces, and she could well have a skeleton in her closet we haven't seen yet. That could blow her up. She could also blow herself up if she goes Woke and tries to win back the far left instead of the middle. She does that, the middle will stay home...and she will lose.

Other than that, the DNC knows full well it's the Haley voters who will dictate this election. She gets those, she wins going away and it's going to be a blowout. And the fastest way to win those is simply act like a moderate (she isn't...at all, but America doesn't know that yet) and pick somebody like Kinzinger or Paul Ryan as her running mate. If the Dem elders balk at one of those, we could see Joe Manchin. But it'll be a white guy, and the preference will be for somebody Gen X at the absolute oldest.

Re: The enemy within

Jul 3, 2024, 7:40 PM

Biden is (in mid-August will announce that he won’t run again, but will still ‘govern’ through end of his term) a ceremonial president. His only meaningful input is political. Since being elected in 2020, he’s been incapable of policy decisions, but his root personality as a dirty political fighter remains with him even as Democrat propagandists and their legions of automatons finally start to acknowledge a little bit of cognitive impairment in him.

Typical of a sociopath, Biden never takes full responsibility for his blunders or for bad things that happen to the Democrat party because of his actions.

Exemplary as far as a manipulator, Joe is arguably the best performance liar ever in politics. Maybe it’s ’practice makes perfect’; as a prodigious liar, with equal aplomb when emitting lies big and small, Biden’s body language and facial expressions never betray his lies. Hillary, Pelosi, Schumer, Sciiff, Liz Cheney, John Bolton, etc etc etc are also notably prolific liars, but their faces and body language betrays them; their lies are laughably easy to recognize. Barack Obama was a skilled performance liar, with ‘if you like your doctor, then you can keep your doctor’ being among his most famous and most convincing. Neverhheless, Bamy is strictly JV when compared to Joe.

Kamala won’t be the replacement. It will be Big Mike. She’ll be coronated towards the end at the DNC Convention after a choreographed ‘open primary.’ Waiting until then will allow her to avoid the scrutiny that comes with a long campaign and often damaged; by being coronated less than 75 days before the election, her campaign can maximize her re-exposure by spending September on old women centric puff talk shows and on late night fatuous ‘comedy’ shows of the Kimmel and Fallon type. She’ll survive October when she can no longer avoid more in depth news / political forums … as long as she doesn’t get the big head and start wandering from the ######.

So, prepare yourself to be a subject in the Kingdom of The One Who She’s Been Waiting For.

And why would a Republican House even consider the 25th Amendment at this point? Let the Democrats roll in their own squalor.

Re: The enemy within

Jul 3, 2024, 7:18 PM

Well, because it's not the House that invokes the 25th.

It's the Cabinet. All careerist bureaucrats who will be looking to hold onto their spots and who fully know now they cannot win with Joe at the helm.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: The enemy within

Jul 3, 2024, 8:56 PM

Yes you are 1/2 correct because either the VP and majority of principle officers of the Executive Branch or Congress can invoke the 25th Amendement by notification in writing to the President pro tempore of the Senate and Speaker of the House that the President is unable perform the duities of the office. At which time the VP becomes the Acting President.

However, the key is if the President agrees to step down for being unable to perform their duties. If the President doesn't agree and provides in writing (to the same entities) that he/she can perform duties, the President will resume the Presidency. This is where it is either dropped or eventually ends with Congress requiring a 2/3 majority to remove the President from office.

This happens per Section 4 of the 25th Amendment: (Cliff Note Version)

The VP with a "majority" group of principal officers of executive departments or CONGRESS can submit in writing to the President pro tempore of the Senate and Speaker of the House stating the president is cannot perform their duties of the office, at which point, the VP assumes Acting President.

If the President doesn't step down and submits, in writing to the President pro tempore of the Senate and Speaker of the House, he/she is fit and is staying, he/she resumes duties as President.

Next, there is a 4 day window in which the process can start again if the VP with a majority executive officers or Congress submits in writing that the President cannot perform the duties of the office to same entities as before.

At this point, Congress has 48 hours to assemble and 21 days to decide. At least 67 Senators and 290 Representatives would have to vote to remove the President from office.

I hope so, but I seriously doubt it. Even if they did, the VP is a bigger disaster. Biden needs to very quickly step down, and the Dems need to run a competent person that Independents can vote for, but that's not looking good so far.

Re: The enemy within

Jul 3, 2024, 7:26 PM

Look, we're political junkies. We read, we follow the goings-on in Washington. 99% of Americans simply do not, or tune in just before the election.

We know how much of a leftist Kamala is. One look at her voting record in the Senate would tell anybody that. I have no doubt the GOP will dig up any number of speeches she's done where she's going full Woke.

It doesn't matter, though, because she'll just play pretend and act reasonable, get herself an earnest Captain America type from the old GOP that has no place in MAGA, and make calm centrist noises, and America will buy it because Donald Trump scares the bejesus out of everybody. Donald Trump doesn't have a clue how to act reasonable or sane, he'll just double down on the crazy and try to motivate his base even further and that isn't a winning hand if you lose the Never Trumpers and Reaganites like me, and I suspect, you.

And today is not last week. At the beginning of last week, our system of checks and balances still existed. Now SCOTUS has made it virtually impossible to remove or hold accountable a president who does...anything. That genie is going to be incredibly hard to stuff back in the bottle.

Whom from among Democrat politicians do you consider to be competent?

Roy Cooper? Andy Breshear? Breshear would be my top choice if someone put a gun to my head and said ‘pick one.’

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: The enemy within

Jul 3, 2024, 8:12 PM

Competent or people I agree with? I would without a doubt vote for Cooper over either candidate we have now. Certainly not because I agree with him in every way, but I think he's measured and has good judgment (on most things). Someone of that type is who the Dems should go with.

Jul 3, 2024, 6:40 PM [ in reply to Re: The enemy within ]

First of all; Biden was just as brain dead in 2020. That’s why they hid him in the basement.

The only reason there is discussion now is because he’s behind in the polls. If he were up by 10 points they’d be screaming about how he’s sharp, and on point when it matters.

The bammy regime needs a puppet to “fundamentally transform” America. And Joe is a good puppet. In fact; he’s the best puppet because, he’s FKN BRAIN DEAD.

Dictators don’t mandate things do they?
Mask mandates
EV mandates
ESG mandates
Taxpayer funded personal loan mandates that defy SCOTUS.

Trump only wishes he could be the dictator that O’biden is/was/will be.
That’s a a fact jack.

Re: Sniffing glue is bad bro.

Jul 3, 2024, 6:47 PM

I suspect Kamala is very much about to demonstrate the difference for you. You think mask mandates during a pandemic that killed a million Americans are a "dictatorship"? Lordy. Go abroad sometime.

You've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of your Red Caesar for awhile now. Instead thanks to MAGA, I think we're about to get a blue one, and evade Fascism only to get ourselves a Marxist. And this blue Caesar is just 59 years old and is going to have a good long time to wreak her will upon us all.

Great job.

Re: Just returned from Europe. I see more masks at the North Charleston bus stop.

2

Jul 3, 2024, 7:09 PM

I absolutely blame the GOP for re-nominating a guy 55%+ of America absolutely will not vote for under any circumstances.

It's going to be incredibly easy for Kamala to look sane compared to Donald Trump and scoop up the middle Americans Donald has completely turned off. She used to put criminals away for a living; on a debate stage she'll make it all about him and cut him to shreds. Donald is a gibbering dementia case himself, he just apparently isn't quite as far along as Joe obviously is, but he has zero chance against her on a stage.

I think barring some great surprise in her personal history or trying to run as Kamala X, Donald has zero chance against Harris in a general election too. KAMALA IS AN UNKNOWN TO 99% OF AMERICA AND ALL THEY WILL SEE IS WHAT SHE CHOOSES TO SHOW THEM. All she has to do is go through the motions of being a moderate right up until the moment she's coronated. Which it's going to be, thanks to SCOTUS's batsh!t ruling this past week.

And yeah, it's your fault. You put a narcissistic lunatic who's a walking sideshow and calamity on the right side of the stage who has more baggage than La Guardia on Christmas Eve, it's child's play for a cold-eyed snake to slither in on the left.

I agree, except ...

1

Jul 3, 2024, 9:43 PM [ in reply to Re: The enemy within ]

All indications are Kamala loses bigger than Biden against Trump. So, Kamala absolutely must get the nomination when Joe steps down, because there's no way the dems pass over the next in line when the next in line is a woman of color; they have to offer it to her. But she doesn't have to accept. She turns it down, then throws her support behind a candidate that can win, and gives a firey speech for that nominee.
