I thought they already put a rule in place where it could only happen during certain windows. 'During the season' was not one of the windows.

Doesn't really take effect until the end of this year. It was only approved in August, so wouldn't apply to 2022 since The windows had already passed. Will truly take effect at the end of the 2022-23 championships and into next spring. This is the last year they still can during the season.

If there coach doesn't grab him right now from the portal and if not, yell that their Double National Championship coach has been left behind in the modern era? How could they not jump on a player that was not able to make his way to the depth chart of another team? Oh wait...I guess with the caveat of double national championship coaches that is only a very small group of message boards that are applicable!!

Those national championships were before the portal and NIL affected the game.
I don’t think NIL is going to hurt us as much as some people think because of our culture and the type of kids we recruit. But if you think not getting some depth from the portal is not going to affect us sooner or later you’re kidding yourself. And only people that worship Dabo have your viewpoint.

Thats the thing though, unless there is a mass exodus then there is no need to go to the portal. Trust me when I say using the portal against teams that take a bunch of portal guys is real and is the same argument Dabo uses in the lack of transfers he took before the portal became a thing. Dabo tells high school recruits that he isn't going to bring in a older guy to take said high school players spot. Meaning that Clemson's and the coaches entire efforts is trained on the high school kid. It works and is a major selling point the coaches use. So no you don't have to worship Dabo to agree with him bc there is a number of reason to not only not use the portal but use it sparingly if need be. Believe it or not guys like knowing they aren't going to get replaced if their not quite ready.

Really Lowcountry???? I guy is going to leave a program because he is not getting enough playing time and come to Clemson so he can provide Roster Depth?? He is leaving his current program because he IS roster depth and doesn't want to be!!
And I am sure that some will point to the few examples of players that have gone to other schools and been successes and added to that team's contributing talent. Those examples are VERY few out of the large number of portal players and I contend that they were not really "portal" players. They transferred into the portal to get to where they already new they were going!! It wasn't some top tier kid sitting there not knowing where he wants to go so he portals. They knew, "I want to go to Bama!" and they portalled to do that.
Maybe Spencer Rattler will blow my theory this year though. HA!!

Hate he is transferring at this point in the season. I would much rather he finished out the year then transfer. You never know how many injuries we could have which would give him PT. I wish him well, just wish he had not quit with 10-12 games to go.
