I mean how do y’all make it through life being so negative??? The “ I’m just being realistic” crowd is absolutely depressing. Hope you’re as perfect in your life as you expect the coaches and players to be ?♂️?♂️

everything is a crisis, it's a reaction to what they see on TV and the media. I remember the days in Tigertown where I would have loved to be 9-1 in this part of the season.

Exactly, it’s pretty sad how so many have to programmed to only focus on negatives 24/7 365. Couldn’t imagine living life like that no way it can be fun.

I am sure you would choose the flint lock vs M60.
We are 9-1 because the ACC sucks, period. Look at ND's streak against the ACC. They are not a good team. Neither is WF, neither is NCst, niether is UNC; but we very well could lose that game.
It isn't about being negative, it is about believing DABO when he said "the best is yet to come".

Give everything? You mean the ones that slimmed down, and are trying "real hard" now that the draft matters? Or the ones that we are afraid will transfer if they ride the pine for a few games? Those?
If you cannot see that there are issues; you aren't a fan, you are a fanatic.

Never said everything is great because it isn’t, but definitely not jumping off of a cliff over being 9-1. Don’t believe Dabo is dumb enough to watch what he built fall like some absolutely believe.

Link to anyone here jumping off a cliff about us being 9-1?
Nov 15, 2022, 11:23 AM
|
|
Who here thinks Dabo is dumb?
Who thinks he wants to fail?
NO ONE.
Everyone here seems to believe that Dabo is doing his best. But what if his best isn't good enough now?
The key coordinator hires that got us over the hump were Chad Morris and Brent Venables. Morris brought a toughness that our soft program needed, and transformed the offense. Venables brought a new defensive philosophy and helped us be more consistent. Those two hires changed the trajectory of our program.
Dabo doesn't appear willing to make those kinds of hires anymore, based on his recent hiring decisions and unwillingness to consider coordinator hires outside the program.
Bottom line #1: most Clemson fans aren't pleased with the offense or defense this year, based on our talent level and previous success.
Don't you think that maybe, just maybe, with early returns not being what we hoped, that it's reasonable to consider that Dabo could've (should've?) made better hires?
This is just one example, of course. We can also talk about questionable position coach hires the last few years, as well as Dabo's hesitancy to use the transfer portal.
Bottom line #2: the last two years have been a disappointment, based on where our program was in the not-too-distant past as well as preseason predictions that we would contend for a national title both years. I know it is soothing to try to rationalize these things, and blame injuries, or new coordinators, or NIL, but we have slipped.
Dabo is certainly trying to fix it, but when his fixes now are a significant departure from his successful fixes in the past, and early returns aren't good, you can't blame people for being concerned.
That foxhole you talked about earlier? Some of us see threats on the horizon, and are trying to tell you about them. While there is safety in that foxhole, sometimes you have to stick your head out to see what's really going on.

And there it is. Any time someone posts a positive statement it gets turned into “you pumpers think everything is perfect and Dabo can do no wrong”. If y’all could read, most of us who remain positive also have concerns and questions but approach them in a positive way instead of saying the coaches suck or calling players names or acting like we are better qualified to run the program than the coaches. But I guess if all you look for is the negative, that’s all you’re going to see. I’ll stick with a positive outlook, not just about Clemson football but in every aspect of my life.

And there it is. Anytime someone posts a concern, it gets turned into "some of you only look for the negative." If you could read, most of us who express concerns are very thankful for Dabo and grateful for the outstanding program we have. But we also see significant red flags, not just now, but over the past couple of years, and feel that a message board is the appropriate place to bring them up.

Wrong again. I participate in many discussions about what is going on with the offense, WRs, and allowing too many points. Try to go back and read this thread again, slowly this time so you can see what I’m talking about because now you are just flat out lying.

^^^^ This right here, not saying we are perfect far from it but as a fan who puts no work into the program the way these guys do no way am I going to be disappointed being 9-1. Obviously changes need to be made but they aren’t the ones coming from people sitting on the couch digging lint out of their belly button ??

Even in a foxhole you are going to have to look at situations realistically and correct them...not that anyone on this site has ever played or studied football...many at Clemson will have knowledge of foxholes...all of life requires the same perspective!

There us do much truth to what you and cu81grad posted, but let's not disregard opinions that the team is performing below expectations and perceived talent.
I believe Dabo can and will fix it...just want a bit stronger evidence that the fix is actually in the works. Still, even with perceived under performance, it's better than being a coot.

Ninety percent of what people say on here about this season has come out of Dabo himselfs mouth. Should he #### and be happy to not be horrible? Would you want to be a foxhole with Dabo when he is so hard on a team that's 9-1?

90% is probably a pretty big stretch even for a statistic made up on the spot. Haven’t heard Dabo say Grisham’s gotta go, or our coordinators suck, or Cade should transfer because of the way he is being treated, or Streeter is the reason we won’t make the playoffs, or we need to quit babying DJ and play Cade. That’s all just from the last couple of days. None of us that are routinely called pumpers say they’re aren’t problems but we look for positive solutions instead of just this coach or player sucks or needs to be fired now or the old I told you so crowd.

I don't believe the "None of us" part, but I'll go along with "Most of us".
just as "Most of us" that are routinely called "dumpers/coots" have genuine concerns about the team/program and MOST OF US DO provide and/or discuss solutions..........unfortunately some of the solutions may be that some players just aren't good enough.........or a coach isn't qualified enough to hold a certain position for an "ELITE" program that Dabo has built.
ANYTHING said to the contrary of how Dabo is or has done something is considered "negative" by "pumpers"
ISSUES that plague us: portal use talent at WR / Recruiting at WR / WR development QB talent / development Playcalling (defensive AND offensive) Defensive subpar performances
all of the above can be placed on coaching

Jeez this site really has turned into a Tiger version of FGF the last few weeks. Fans attacking other fans for posting on a Clemson site and giving their insights, concerns, and thoughts. God forbid we do that (unless people are suggesting firing Dabo, that's absolutely unwarranted and deserves backlash). I'm not disagreeing that it's bad to be negative all the time because it is unhealthy but this can't be a "lala-land, everything is hunkydory" place either. That's asking for the impossible. I have no ill-will towards any of my fellow Tigers but my god that is enough of this "pick me" energy y'all display like high school girls on here about who is a better fan than the next. We are better than this as most of us are grown adults on here.

I think a distinction should be made between those who are being over the top, personally attacking players and calling for coaches heads and those that are concerned about scheme, player development, adapting to the new landscape of college football, and close games against teams with far inferior talent. I do question some of Dabo's new moves and philosophies but I love the guy and don't want anyone else running our program. I have faith he will adapt and he certainly deserves plenty of time to do that. I think the backdrop of disappointment is that this is our "most talented" team recruiting wise in the Dabo era. I'm super happy that we are 9-1 and still could be in the playoff. I mean just last week several people even in the Clemson media thought there was a decent chance we would lose to Louisville! The team came out and played to their talent level although I hate that Dabo called off the dogs after we went up by two scores with plenty of football left. That could come back to haunt us against a team like UNC.

To be honest, I wouldn't want to be in a foxhole with someone who believes that what's happening with our team is just fine bc there isn't any problems. I would be worry that a foxhole partner like that, would pull the Pin on a hand grenade, and throw out the Pin, and drop the hand grenade in the bottom of the foxhole!!!
