He makes sense but, in reality, nothing changes other than some schools who can't complete in the NIL world will most likely take back seat in the national arena. Those like GA, TX, BAMA, A&M, SOCAL, OHST will continue doing what they have admittedly been doing for years, just making it legal and ramping it up. The "sell" will change but like Kirby admitted, recruiting is all propaganda anyway.
I do think that the transfer portal might be the game changer though and I say that because it may hurt the programs that recruit the best in an "unintended consequence" kind of way. Teams such as UGA are losing a whole lot of players in the portal because they keep adding more competition on their own teams and if nothing is about development or the love of the school, etc and nothing prevents them from leaving, you will continue to see the departures. At the end of the day, football is still a team sport and, these are 18-21 yr old kids with many of them being prima donnas. We are just now going to see how all this affects the "one mind, one heart, one spirit" that has traditionally been necessary to be champions.
It is setting up to be one helluva documentary series in about 10 years!
