Solid womens basketball season

You could see the improvement. Unfortunately we could not get over the late game snakebit close losses that have plagued the program for a while.

Multiple close losses with poor last minute or even final 20 seconds execution. Next year if we start to win games like that instead of always feeling like we will find a way to drop the close ones, then the program can turn around in a hurry.

I agree. Most of the time, it seems harder to take it to other levels but there is no doubt in my mind, there was improvement this year.

The most frustrating thing is is that they had so many games that they had the lead in the 4th Qtr. this season but they went into scoring droughts and then there were the close losses where the did not score down the stretch of the games...This years team relied a lot more on making 3's than the did trying to make shots in the paint,they did not have the height to do so and it showed a whole lot

As they develop some depth you won’t see the air balls late in the game

Yes, they showed improvement. I hope Poppie can use the portal to improve the height and talent. The girls this year in almost every instance gave it their all.

Skill level. Bottom line. If you have ever coached you know the toughest years are the ones when losses pile up. He kept the team together, competitive and darn near third round ACC tourney. Skill. That’s the difference.
