Am I the only one that cries the night before our first game

I don’t know if it’s because of anxiety about the season or memories from season openers past, but I get the feels the night before the first game every year. It’s gotten to the point where I know it’s coming and spend the night by myself instead going out to Applebees or Buffalo Wild Wings. It’s a shame, because I used to almost always get digits from a slightly above average looking honey or two on ‘Opener Eve’ before this became a problem.

My mom and dad got in a fight at the first opening game I ever attended and dad left shortly afterwards to pursue his acting career. Even though I can’t blame him for trying to regain the fame that he garnered in his minor role in the movie Porky’s, it makes the opener each year sad nonetheless.

I also got dumped by the love of my life during the thrilling one point win in the 2005 opener against Texas A&M. It was an 8pm kickoff that year and I got sick before the end of the 1st quarter from drinking too many Natty Lights and SoCo shots during our tailgate. She refused to leave with me when security gave me the hook. I don’t remember it, but she supposedly said that her friends were right about me or something to that effect. I didn’t care at the time since the Tigers won, but looking back I see things differently.

I often wonder if Melinda is on TigerNet because she was a huge Clemson fan. If so, “Sup” Melinda. Your loss. I bet your friends never thought I’d have almost 3K TU’s on TigerNet and my own Twitter account.

My plan this year is to stay home and watch my recordings of the 2016 and 2018 National Championship games. If those don’t cheer me up, I’ll probably flip over to Days of Thunder. That never fails me.
