of course it starts with Banks McFadden, and I am sure there were dozens during Frank Howard's tenure
some I remember or at least heard about - Mike Epplet Football and basketball - Dexter McCleon Football baseball - Billy Davis Football and baseball - Deandre Hopkins - Football, and about 3 mop up minutes in hoops - DJ Reader - Football and a cup of coffee on the baseball team - Kyle Parker - Football Baseball. - Couple of Nigerian kickers Soccer and Football Obed and Donald - Bucholtz Soccer and football. - Thinking Stan Rome - basketball football. - Patrick Sapp may have played a little hoops after he switched from a quarterback to NFL linebacker
There was talk of Olu Babalola trying out for the football team but nothing ever came of it.
I know I am missing many, so help would be appreciated.

Smiley Sanders baseball, football 1971-74 His success on the field began in 1972 when he scored Clemson's only touchdown in a 7-6 win over South Carolina, one of five he scored against the Gamecocks in his career. His dual-sport mastery continued during the 1972 baseball season, when he led the team in homers (6) and RBIs (21). Sanders saw his first regular-season ACC title during the 1973 baseball season, as he led the Tigers to a 10-2 ACC record. He was voted First-Team All-ACC as well. The 1974 baseball season was Sanders' greatest as a Tiger. Sanders led Clemson to a 10-1 ACC record and another ACC regular-season title. He was voted second-team All-District III after leading the ACC in homers (8), RBIs (30), and runs scored (41). Sanders also led the Tigers in doubles (11) and total bases (78). To cap off his stellar season, Sanders belted four homers in the ACC Tournament, leading the Tigers to three wins and Clemson's second tourney title game appearance in as many years.

I’ll second that, Smiley was a great contributor in as both an outfielder in baseball and running back in football in the early 70s.

Not the best in Clemson history but worth mentioning.
Billy Wingo from Union, SC earned 4 letters in both baseball and football at Clemson in early and mid 70s.
1973-77
Clemson has long been a breeding ground for dual-sport talent. There are several student-athletes on today's football roster, including Mark Buchholz, Jacoby Ford, Kyle Parker, and C.J. Spiller, who have been involved in multiple sports during their Clemson careers. One of the premier two-sport athletes in Tiger history was Billy Wingo.
A native of Union, SC, Wingo came to Clemson primarily as a baseball player. He left holding four letters in both baseball and football, becoming one of the first Clemson student-athletes to accomplish that feat in the early years of freshman eligibility.
Wingo's baseball career was among the most prolific in school history. Twice (1976,77) his teams advanced to the College World Series and twice Wingo was the starting second-baseman in Omaha. He also won a conference tournament championship in 1976.
The Tigers finished the season ranked #5 by Collegiate Baseball in both of Wingo's final two seasons at Clemson. A career .296 batter, he was a three-year starter at second base and was named a First-Team All-ACC selection in both 1975 and 1977.
In 1977, Wingo set the standard for defensive excellence, committing only three errors at second base for a team that set an ACC record with 26 consecutive wins. He also set school records for runs (114) and steals (41), marks which may still be standing had the NCAA not expanded the schedules to include more games.
Upon his arrival at Clemson, Wingo decided that in addition to baseball, he wanted to walk on to the football squad. He made the team and it did not take him long to earn a scholarship. In fact, during his freshman season, he finished second on the team in both kickoff return and punt return yardage.
Wingo earned a starting spot at cornerback before the 1975 season and spent his final three years in a Tiger uniform as either a cornerback or safety. He developed into a solid player and good leader for the Tigers during the mid-1970s. He became an integral part of the 1974 team that finished with a 7-4 record.
Only negative is his son Scott played for the Coots on their National Championship baseball teams…..
Billy’s in the Clemson Hall of Fame

Mike Eppley was A great 2 sport athlete star. He was an excellent quarterback, but unfortunately his time as Clemson starting quarterback was during our probation in the early 80s. No bowl games, and back then you were rarely on TV. And he was a very good basketball point guard.
