5* QB Dante Moore flips from Oregon to UCLA

Does this influence DJ's decision? I know most rumors had him going to UCLA but now maybe not if there will be a real QB competition.
And with Bo Nix coming back to Oregon where does that leave DJ?

UCLA is no longer an option with the Moore news and the Kent State QB transfer. And Oregon is probably not an option either with Nix coming back. I think DJ's options are becoming very limited. I'm actually starting to wonder if UVA comes into play. Elliot needs a QB and DJ needs a home.

with a pretty decent team left to him. He took a decent QB and failed. I’m pulling for him none the less, but at this point he needs to focus on getting a QB that can win and not handicap the WRs and line with his deficiencies.
DJ would be good for the locker room and benefit from the degree a good bit, but I don’t think he can patch that offense up.

He still had a star QB, who played a lot worse this year.

That can’t be explained away entirely by the OL.

I still say DJ's best option is to go to USC with his brother and sit and be the back up for a year. He needs to get his mental aspect back in line and I think having Riley as a coach and QB guru and being able to sit behind Williams as the starter without the pressure and watch and learn would do him well.
Look at the difference Riley made in Jalen Hurt's development.

I think whoever is advising him made a tactical error. He should have been on the first plane to LA after he announced and locked up his transfer to UCLA before these other 2 QBs were in play. I am sure they thought he would have more options and wanted to try and package a deal with his brother but that is turning out to be another bad decision for DJ.
It is a shame that he can't get better advice from those around him. I think his best options are gone and now he is just going to have to settle for whatever he can get.

Maybe their system would work better for DJ than the RPO system we run at Clemson, and if so, DJ shouldn't have a problem beating out any true freshman where the system works for DJ!!!!
I'm sure that I'm not the only one that remembers how well Cole Stoudt played once the coaches adjusted our system to fit Cole Stoudt's skills. He demolished the Oklahomo defense with a 40-6 score, completed 26/36 passes for 319 yards and 4 total touchdowns (3 passing, 1 running) in the 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl. If Tony and jeff hadn't changed our O enough to fit Cole's skills, that game would have looked like a different game than it was. Would we have won, don't know, but it wouldn't have been the blowout that it was!!!
It's sometimes pretty surprising when a coach can design plays that fits the shills that their QB has. But the same thing holds true when coordinators on both sides of the ball can make their side of the ball fit their best skill players. And that is why I'm always saying that coordinators must have the experience to teach, and the experience to design a system that best fits their players even if it means changing it every season if needs be. And honestly, I don't believe that our coordinators have that experience at the present time....

That leaves DJ in a deal wherever his brother Matayo Uiagalelei ends up I would think, or that is what I would do if I were an elite HS prospect, and my older brother needed a place to go, the school that got me would have to take my brother also. Blood will always be thicker than the water that runs at a 4-year university for FB purposes!!!

His brother has narrowed his list down to USC, Ohio State, and Oregon so none of these would really be good fits for DJ as it is doubtful he could come in and start right away at any of those schools.

I agree. I think DJ will be looking at possible schools who need a QB & have an offense fitted to his skills!
Also, I doubt his brother would jeopardize his preferred destinations with some kind of deal for a QB brother, who still needs to prove himself. I don't think DJ 's destination is at a high profile school with a talented QB competition. I believe DJ can & will find a place that can use his skills without a skeptical fanbase who will be harping at his shortcomings during his previous stop at Clemson.

Not exactly, Dabo pulled him and put Trevor in, and he went undefeated. In other words, Dabo didn't wait until after KB lost a game before making the move. I personally feel if Dabo would have made that move earlier in the season, we would have an 8-0 streak against the coots, we would have 41 wins at home without a loss, and most likely a spot in the 2022 playoffs. I personally believe that to be true....

That’s what makes it so sad. We didn’t have to lose that game. And Dabo probably thought we weren’t going to lose until that last fumble. But those streaks all died due to arrogance and stubbornness.

Or at least find a good QB coach and call it free Draft prep. His best bet is to prove everyone wrong in draft assessment and be the next Logan Thomas.

Jonathan Smith and his staff have something special going on right now. They should not have lost to USC and very easily could have beaten UW. They could have finished with 12 wins this year.

DJ has become a liability for whatever coach brings him to his program.
I'm not blaming DJ, unfortunately, our coaches plan for DJ backfired and make him a risk as a starter at the majority of the programs he is being mentioned to transfer to.
Best thing he can do is transfer to a less competitive QB room to get some playing time and build back his confidence and work on fundamentals in a system that caters to his strengths.

Just because he’s from California?
He traveled across the country to go to Clemson. I don’t think distance is an issue for him.
