So you have to have some arbitrary distinction. Whether you're testing for testosterone or you're testing for chromosomes, you have to make up a rule which is fine. Just understand that by making that your definition, you're going to exclude women who don't meet your definition which means that if they want to participate, they have to enter against men which is what you supposedly don't want.

If trans people and intersex people insist on playing sports, make a trans and intersex category. If they have male levels of testosterone or had male levels of testosterone during their development, they shouldn’t be allowed to beat up women in a boxing match.

Has anyone proven that the victor who apparently is XY, has ambiguous genitalia?
There are many variations of intersex with some having chromosomal abnormalities and either ambiguous genitalia or poorly developed genitalia.
Others may have normal chromosomes but have ambiguous or poorly developed genitalia.
If someone is XY despite having a micropenis and even having the micropenis removed as an infant and raised as a female, which was often done in the past with these individuals, that individual still has inherent physical advantages over an XX individual.
XY individuals should not be boxing against XX individuals regardless of what sexual organ or combination thereof they possess or what they identify as.
It is patently unfair and potentially dangerous in certain sports featuring XX individuals.
Yes, intersex is a thing, making up less than 2% of the population, but again allowing XY individuals to compete against XX individuals is nonsense.

There are definitely biological markers that define male and female - chromosomes, testosterone levels, and sex organs. If society can't determine the difference, then there's really no reason to have men's and women's sports. But, reasonable people understand the need to separate the sports.

mainly because of the difference in testosterone levels(*), and that's why the intersex/DSD issue is a topic that is fair to discuss in terms of fairness. The problem with the Imane Khelif issue is we don't know for sure what the tests she supposedly failed showed. She's likely intersex/DSD (this is different than saying she's "male" competing against women b/c she's literally not.) But, she would have the advantage of higher testosterone that would likely need to be regulated to compete. That's a fair conversation to have. But instead, we have one side yelling "SHE'S A MAN, LOOK AT HER!" which isn't true and not a constructive argument.
These boxers are the perfect example of showing the complicated intersection of biology/sex/gender as well as sport and fairness and how the world isn't so easily categorized into binary systems, no matter how badly some want to believe that.
(*)To be clear, I don't believe all sports need the separation.

The International Boxing Association disqualified the boxer for having competitive advantages related to chromosomes. Doesn't seem to be subjective. Do you think they did that for some sort of reason other than what they said? I don't know this person and neither do you, but if she failed a gender test administered by a recognized boxing association, then I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that this boxer may have competitive advantages based on having male characteristics.

The IBA disqualified her based on a test that in their words "gave her a competitive advantage over the other female boxers" and later said it wasn't a testosterone test. They made no mention of it being chromosome differences, that information came from the Russian President of the IBA talking to a Russian media outlet. It still might be true, but if we're talking about objective truth, we would have to say we don't know unless the IBA releases the test or is more transparent. And it matters that the IBA has been banned for being shady/corrupt.
Again the only points we know to be true right now (objectively):
She was born a female
She lived her whole life as a female
She competed for years as a female, both winning and losing to other females
Her country recognizes her as being female
IOC sees her as female

The IBA disqualifications may be total BS, but I would have to wonder the reasoning they would make those claims. Unfortunately, we are at a point in society where men do compete in women's sports (and some people are ok with this), so when these types of statements are made there are questions.

They are different but in the same realm, which is ultimately about fair competition.
The sources I've looked at about this are NPR and USA Today. So, yes, a good chance of bias about the story.

The accusation came when she beat a Russian boxer. By a corrupt Russian organization. All of you who routinely get taken by Russian propaganda should beware. She has never identified as a man. She is not transgender. She was born a female and still is a female.
She has DSD, or differences in sexual development, as defined in one article:
"Differences in sex development is a set of rare conditions involving genes, hormones and reproductive organs that can cause the sexual development of a person to be different than others, according to the NHS.
Sometimes, this can lead to a person having XY chromosomes but develop otherwise female."
I know you mouth breathing Trumpies want her so badly to be a transgender person who is ####### up sports (and I agree they shouldn't be allowed to cross over), but this woman isn't one of them.
