The New Jersey State Legislature that came up with this survey is Democrat, then they forced it on the hospitals. Do you only understand articles with pictures?

To be fair, we know Libs would be the only ones that would ask that. On the other hand, is there more to the story?

That's stupid

And any law which is written in such a way that makes that a thing is, at best, poorly worded.
No one I know that is LGBTQ or LGBTQ adjacent would support the stupid idea that the baby could communicate anything of the sort to the parents.
Trust me, folks on my side of this issue think its stupid as well.

it is stupid to ask if your offspring is ghey, but the state was only requiring they ask the parents which gender the child identifies with, which is poorly worded. Believe it or not, 1 in 2000 babies are born with DSD, where their genitalia, chromosomes, or reproductive organs don't fit typical male or female categories, including having both ovarian and testicular tissue, and often consult with doctors to determine which sex to assign to the newborn.
My mother used to be a nurse, she saw it about a 1/2 dozen times.

Oh no doubt, I get the question of what was assigned

And I was taking the initial article at face value, and if there is a question about a baby's sexual preference (gross). It wouldn't surprise me that the article is wrong, but if it isn't that's a stupid question.
But I do completely understand why the question of biological sex assigned at birth. I was more ocmmenting on the sexual preference question.

I guess they're finally dropping the charade of pretending to be a sports site and have gone full Foxnews.
BTW asking parents to list the sexual orientation of their infant is stupid, but I don't believe that's really the law simply because outkick reported it. If you read it in that rag you can be sure you're not getting the full accurate story.

I really give two sheets about what a state is don't live in is asking it's residents so I don't plan to research it. My guess though is someone poorly worded a survey question and ole Clay's band of merry instigators is twisting it to mean what they want it to mean

OutKick is lazy as chit, “reporting’ on a lazy as chit tweet by some chick/bot named Breanna. No value add by Breanna or OutKick as far as how/why?
A quick and easy online search revealed dozens of “artcles” / “blurbs like those of OutKick and Breanna sourcing one another in an adorable echo chamber. A few went into a little more detail like the below from the DailyMail.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14511129/amp/New-Jersey-mothers-woke-questionnaire-newborns-sexual-identity.html
This is about demographic info collection and associated processes/procedures to ensure inclusivity (yes, DEI opponents will get very hard reading additional info contained here). Of note is that there is no lower age restriction explicitly mentioned in the bill. And so …this provider went total stupid with compliance.
The law referenced in the survey and in OutKicks and Breanna’s blurb isl Bill A4385
https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/bill-search/2022/A4385
So that is my minimal value add. The so what? Well now you can have a little more context if you are a member of the few that have any curiosity how this odd questionnaire came into being.

They asked me the same questions. What was your assigned sex. How many docs look down and see a weiner and say that must be a girl?
I told them my sex was not assigned. It was observed. I felt bad for the lady asking the questions because she was clearly uncomfortable doing so.
