There are many. I still get chills watching Secretariat’s final race where he totally demolished the field. Another is Tom Watson’s almost win of the Open Championship at the age of 65 (I think.) Love to hear others.

While I was alive back in 81, I did not yet follow Clemson very closely. In 2016, I remember thinking that I may never see another one but that sure was a lot of fun. Then we did it again just 2 years later.

Nolan Ryan threw 235 pitches over 13 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out 19, gave up 3 runs.
Threw a no hitter at 43 and his 7th at age 44.

Could you imagine that today? Talking heads would be calling for firings and prison sentences for abuse of a pitcher. Nolan is still one of my all time favorites. I wish I wasn’t a kid when he pitched so I could appreciate it more.

Bad coaching decisions and we completely gave it away.
Probably the most disgusting loss I’ve seen in many decades. Just because it never should have happened. And it probably took us out of the playoff.
But my point was Shane Bummer didn’t have much to do with it. Simply showed up and was there to take it. So my answer was kinda a joke… ya know.

I know alot won't like this b/c its a thoroughbred and not a human, but beating Sham (a colt who could've easily won the TC if it weren't for Secretariat) was magical. Special. I've seen two TC wins live, but I know they don't really compare to that June day at Belmont in 1973....
Everyone remembers "he's moving like a tremendous machine" @ Belmont....but forgets his move at Pimlico (from last to first) in the first turn. Simply Unreal.
Three races, five weeks ending in 1.5 miles where he again shatters the course record...a record that still easily stands today. Him and Sham making it basically a match race from the beginning. A torrid pace. Show me a better athlete than that......

I think he still owns the records for all three Triple Crown races.
I talked to Secretariat's jockey, Ron Turcotte, three times. The first time I asked him about the Belmont he said that the horse did it all himself--that was just a passenger. Can you imagine?
I have a signed picture of Ron looking back over his shoulder and seeing how far ahead he was of everyone else.

Joe Dimaggio's 56 game hit steak. Nobody will come close to this record. Pitching matchups and hitting approach make this impossible in today's game.

DiMaggio, 56 streak. "Never to be broken" record...
As for Secretariat, that's a horse, and a freak one at that, so it was just physical superiority, not competitive spirit. I think the horse's heart was 1.5 times larger than the average, or something like that. It was also a pathetic 6-horse field at Belmont, not very interesting. Great story of his acquisition and raising, though, put into a Disney movie.
And I'm a Kentucky horse guy. The more exciting horses were Seabiscuit and Man O' War (buried at Ky horse park)

Some great examples ..... certainly Secretariat, DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak.
How about Tiger Woods 4 rounds at the Master's without a 3-putt. Maybe it has been matched, but at the time I thought that was impossible.

This isn’t the greatest accomplishment but I think it’s worth mentioning. I once heard that Fred McGriff hit at least 1 homerun off of more than 300 different pitchers.
I’ve never verified this.
