If you really want to get depressed.

Give this a read:

Somewhere on Earth 2, I like to think that Gavin Newsom is running against Ron DeSantis for president and America is faced with a genuinely stark decision about its political trajectory in November 2024. Instead, here on Earth 1, we have this impossibly muddled rerun. Voter turnout was higher than usual in 2020 (67 percent) for a presidential election. And why not? People turned out in massive numbers even in the midst of a pandemic and handed an outright numerical majority to Biden in the misbegotten hope that he would at least represent some sort of beneficial change from the madness of the Trump status quo. Now America has taken his full measure and longs for a replacement. That potential replacement on offer is none other than . . . Donald Trump, who after losing an election proved himself to be a wildly unstable man fully intent on overthrowing the government to remain in power.

This is our future. A year from now, in September 2024, it is entirely possible that I will be able to write this same column word for word, with minimal updates for current events. (Trust me, another Trump indictment will not sap his supporters’ enthusiasm.) For the first time in my living memory, or anyone else’s for that matter, the 2024 presidential race promises us that — because we have seen both these men in and out of executive power already and know exactly what we’ll be getting — no matter who wins, America will lose.

“His supporters are emboldened and recklessly support him”

The connections of Hunter Biden to his dad and selling influence and Biden’s role in Ukraine…..how does that all get left out? The payments to the Biden’s….if you believe that is all legit, you are just as much of a sheep as a Trump supporter.

I hate how it’s always Trump is crooked as #### but Biden is clean. That such horsesassshit.

America loses again. I agree.

I would vote for the NON-climate alarmist cult socialist; no matter who the candidate is.

FYI, the only “chaos” in Trump’s administration was the chaos created by the media and their friends at the DNC. 24/7 lies regurgitated endlessly by idiots (many on this board) frothing at the mouth, and pounding their puds over those lies..

You've got to admire the delusional revisionist history of the left. The Trump administration resulted in soaring 401ks, all time low unemployment, and something closer to resembling world peace than we've had before or since. And during that entire time the only thing on the news every single day was that Trump was a Russian spy, which was totally made up, although still believed by many on the left. Sure Trumps responses to being called a Russian spy 24/7 were sometimes clumsy or counterproductive but just imagine the relative feeling of peace and prosperity this country would have experienced if those bogus charges weren't all anyone on the left wants anyone to remember about the Trump administration (along with the worst day in American history, Jan 6).

Good thing they are gullible sheep otherwise they would have never believed, even after all of that, that the Hunter laptop was, you guessed it, the work of those pesky Russians. The media's false narrative on this allowed Biden to get elected as pretty much every poll now indicates enough people would have changed their vote to change the outcome had they known the reality.

But, yeah, Trumps the problem. Keep on drinking that Kool aid and calling anyone who doesn't think he's a Russian spy and that Hunters laptop was also Russian disinformation the weird, kooky, cult member.

Orange Julius. The economy was going to turn down no matter who was in office, but our footing on the world stage is much more stable with the old geezer. The US does not need to be aligned with Putin and Xi on much of anything when it comes to foreign policy and we severely needed to rebuild our relationships with Europe. Like it or not, the economy will slowly improve if we don’t F it up worse by doing something stupid and the western world needs to be united in support of Ukraine.

It’s still the lesser of two evils, but I’ll take old geezer evil that knows the difference between right and wrong and can put the country before himself over chaotic, idiotic evil that will put himself before country at every turn.

Would a real choice between to good people be better? Yes.

Had a wannabe dictator who didn't support democracy or the Constitution. Had to vote in a nursing home patient to get him out, and that nursing home patient has shat the bed.

Now we either get four more years of this catatonic geezer or we get return of the wanna be dictator who will make sure he takes an even bigger wrecking ball to our country this time.

with Biden. They know he's toast if anybody but Trump gets the nod, but they could likely win with anybody other than Biden (and Kamala -- she's DOA). Heck, they might even win with with Biden and someone else as the VP since you're basically voting for that person. But they lack the stones to primary Biden, or force him into replacing Kamala.

Sep 7, 2023, 9:35 AM

WHY the media is hell-bent on covering Biden and Trump to the enth degree, while basically ignoring all other dem AND pub candidates. I mean I can guarantee you, 100%, if I'm alive anyway, I WILL NOT VOTE FOR BIDEN OR TRUMP in 2024. Period. And no level of media coverage, fanfare, or whatever else by Fox News, or CNN, or anyone else will change that. I will not vote for Trump in the primary. If the election does come down to Trump vs. Biden, I will skip the presidential vote in the general election. It won't matter.

But seriously, a solid majority from BOTH PARTIES want someone OTHER THAN Biden or Trump. And yet turn on the news and you'd think they're the only two options. I think we really need to take a closer look at the media, top to bottom, left to right, because if I were Russia or China, I'd be salivating at the information dysfunction in the US.

complicated than Trump is in a never-ending cycle of criminal charges (which is genuinely newsworthy), and Biden is the president.

But, I would meet you halfway in saying both probably get more coverage than they should from these things. Though I am basing this on nothing because I don't watch the news.
