If Trump were president in 1938

he'd be far more Chamberlain and much less Churchill. Lindbergh would be the equivalent of Musk.

Prove me wrong.

Nobody, including Churchill himself, was banging the drums for war against Germany in 1938. Having said that, even Roosevelt following the desires of his constituents, had no interest in direct US intervention until Pearl Harbor in late 1941, so perhaps go read some history books before your next troll attempt.

A huge reason was we had a small military when the war started. Portugal had a larger army. We weren't prepared for war. Then of course the public was against it due to WWI.

Churchill wasn't "banging the drums for war" but he also wasn't for appeasement like Chamberlain was. He saw the threat that Hitler represented and talked of defending Britain and preparing the British military accordingly. Chamberlain when all in with Hitler and trusted him in signing a non-aggression pact, much like Stalin did, and we see how that worked out.

Roosevelt was VERY isolationist at that time and you're right, he didn't change his mind until 1941, but he did broker the Lend-Lease act and started supplying the UK with vital aid, despite objections of many in Congress.

Go ahead. Lecture me some more on history.

Trump's grandfather was a draft dodger and brothel owner, but he died in 1918. Trump's father made a lot of money during WW2, though. Woody Guthrie wrote a whole song about what a POS he was.

There used to be a lot of "LOL!!!!!1!!!"s that would pop up from time to time, where someone would obviously let the shift button go and accidentally type a 1 instead of a ! in a long train of !'s.

So the joke was to intentionally mess it up and 'accidentally' type numbers that were far away from the 1 key -- like forcing the 'accident' to a ridiculous level as a way to poke fun at it. LOL !!!!84!!

This would be the greatest comeback ever.

While I'm very pissed about Trump throwing Zelensky and Ukraine under the bus, it appears Trump just wants the war ended ASAP regardless of the terms, Trump may have dealt more forcefully with Hitler and averted war or completely stayed out of the fight.

Who knows about Trump-1938 edition?

However, Lindbergh never had anything close to the wealth or access to political power that Musk has. There probably has never been anyone remotely close to the standing that Musk has acquired.

I didn't vote for Trump and as I stated, I am very pissed about what Trump is saying regarding Zelensky and Ukraine.

Hypotheticals are just that. No one knows what Trump would have done in 1938. He may well have been an appeaser or he may have kept Hitler at bay.

The comparison of Lindbergh to Musk and their respective influence is not a valid comparison.

The comeback at 165 was an attempt at a joke.

Perhaps you should try some mental gymnastics yourself before wading in.

My post in no way was a defense of Trump.

I do believe Trump wants the war ended ASAP regardless of the terms. Do you not believe that as well?

I don't think that ending the war ASAP regardless of the terms is good for Ukraine, for Europe or for the US.

While I indeed did write what you have quoted, that is NOT a defense of Trump, quite the contrary.

Hopefully this helps, but if not, I can't break it down to more simpler terms.

It is obvious that by initiating talks with Russia while not including Ukraine and by calling Zelensky a dictator and accusing Ukraine of starting this war, that Trump is taking the side of Russia in this war and is looking to end this war quickly, essentially without regard of Ukraine.

That stance obviously is to Russia's advantage and to the detriment of Ukraine.

This stance has our allies wondering if we will be there to help them should Russia attempt another act of aggression.

This is a very bad look for the United States. The negotiations to end this war should be hardballed and tilted in Ukraine's favor although there would have to be some concessions to end a war Ukraine cannot win without direct NATO involvement.

It's obvious Trump's stance is not neutral and that our country has shifted from being pro Ukraine to appeasement of Russia to end the war quickly. This is foolish on Trump's part and Rubio and Michael Waltz should resign if Trump continues down this love fest path with Putin.

He certainly wouldn't be as rich as he is without his Chinese factories. That's why you'll never hear him say anything bad about China or the CCP. I wonder what they might ask of him to continue doing business there.

Steve Bannon called him "an agent of Chinese influence".

Vivek Ramaswamy said Musk "jumps like a circus monkey when Xi Jinping calls" and is "increasingly beholden to China".

Tom Cotton accused him of "chasing Chinese dollars" and "shamefully supplicating China’s Communist rulers".

They like Putin because he is anti-LGBT and they think Russia is some kind of bastion of Christianity. Never mind that a big chunk of Russia is majority-Muslim and Putin kisses their butts on the regular to keep the peace. Male-on-male rape is also very common in Russia.
