“Rumors” on players opting out ...

It’s looking like we may have a few opt out ... Which I don’t object to and can understand...
At what point - would you say ..”let’s just cancel the season”
If we have enough key players opt out .... and let’s say Bama and OSU don’t have as many key losses...
Do we really want to wade into that? At some point I’d rather cancel than soldier on with a severely depleted roster...
I think we have far and away the best team in CFB this season... I’d rather not lose to a team like OSU do to a depleted squad...

Still better than the last guy: The bathroom PAT-down bandit.
Its bad when government over-reach makes NC say: huh, the democrat doesn't look so bad.

I know right. It's sad when a guy so sick in the head that he wants to pretend to be a woman can't use the women's bathroom!

Wrong. Charlotte put in a rule that for private gyms and establishments, people could use any bathroom or locker room they wanted. That means, a male could change in the women’s locker room, the Republicans then in the legislature made the gender law. Get your facts straight, this was all because of Charlotte City Council overstepping. My wife does not care to have males in female locker rooms

Ngata would make 0 sense. He isn’t much of a threat to his family, since they are in Cali. He can’t declare. Etienne I get.

I trust this dude, especially since he can't spell the name of the player opting out.
I don't know why, but I do.

I don’t think COVID is the reason for not playing as much as

it being a good excuse to not play to avoid injury.
Injury would be worse for their draft stock than a case of COVID.
Even if they don’t play they will be socializing and catching the virus anyway.

Why on Earth would you do that?
Let's assume an extreme worst case that would never happen - you hear me saying "this would never happen", right? - all the seniors and juniors collectively decide not to play.
I'd still have the season. Why? Because Clemson is extremely young right now, and while we wouldn't win a natty, there is nothing like experience and competition to make your young guys better.
As a coach, you don't worry about results, you worry about what you can control - process and preparation. Go back to Dabo's stated goal - all he cares about is that the best version of this year's team takes the field, whatever that is.
Some years you win championships. Other years you coach and develop. As long as your program is moving forward and your guys are getting better, you build on that the following year...especially with a young team, which we're going to have even if all our seniors and juniors decide to play.
There's some really, really exciting young guys in the pipe. If they get pressed into service earlier than expected, that can be fun to watch too.

My question to players opting out. Will you go to a store, hang out with your buddies, go to a restaurant, go see mama, walk out of your house?? If you answer no to all of those you have my respect for opting out.

You say let’s cancel when there’s not enough players to play. Never from a few. Basically like an injury when it is 1-2 guys

The only sure fire way to guarantee we don't win a NC is to refuse to participate.

That’s what I get for listening to rumors...
I understand the logic on developing our younger players....makes perfect sense...
The idea of lesser teams stealing a national championship if they get lucky as far as opt outs go still irks me....
I guarantee if Ryan Day and OSU finally beat Clemson they’ll be no asterisk in their minds...
