I actually do believe our offense is better than Clemson’s. But our defense is so pathetic that our offense has no room for error. We will never score enough against a really good D.

I am a Clemson FAN and I will admit that Clemson is not scoring as high on the eye test as we would like to see, but what eyes are you using to create this ranking? Only have to look at your first two ranked teams. Did your eyes test Bama against Texas? Did your eyes test Bama against Texas A&M? Did your eyes test Tennessee when Pitt took them to overtime?
The eye test may be valid when performed by a qualified tester. You have demonstrated for us at least one person who is not.

Today, not at the end of the season... 1/2/3/4/5 all play one of the other top 5 before the season ends, Clemson wins and they are in.. that simple.
1. Tennessee

3. Ohio St.
4. Alabama

8. Oregon
If Tennessee cannot run 80-90 plays a game and get slowed down, their D is very susceptible
If any team would remove Bowers from being all world UGA has issues in the secondary
TCU has outscored their opponents, they have not run into a defense
Oregon is the sleeper, bo Nix is playing lights out right now...
Bama will be back before it all over
Michigan comes down to their matchup with Ohio State Thanksgiving weekend, not a particularly tough schedule so far

two teams playing head to head! Do you remember 2018, when everyone's eye test was calling Bama the greatest team of all time, with the all time best defense! Until 44-16 happened!
This year, how can eye test put Bama at #2? They would've lost to mediocre Texas, if Texas hadn't lost their QB, they should've lost to pitiful TAM! They gave up 52 pts to Tennessee!
So...eye test can't have Bama at #2! Maybe your eye test thinks Oh St and MI look great, but the only team with a pulse either has played is borderline top 25 team Pa State. Both have to take a hit for not playing anyone!
Clemson is the ONLY team that has beaten three current top 25 teams, so that should mean something!
Tuesday night, a logical ranking would be:

I think we will be in the top 4 Tuesday night and I agree with you resume should matter.
Alabama played at Texas in a noon matchup early in the season. I just think on a neutral field they are probably the best team. I just like Tennessee’s offense.

Everything IMO comes down to QB and WR play and then defense after that. Clemson has a good defense that can turn into elite this month. The problem is QB play and WRs. Until we get back to the elite level again, I don’t see a path to a title. OSU, Tenn, Bama have it and you could put UGa in there because their offense plays to their strengths very well. DJ is far from elite and isn’t the guy to get us back as champions. He is improved this year a great deal. But not enough. I think one of these guys between Cade and Vizzina will be the guy. They need to keep recruiting and hit on receivers. That’s just the state of the game right now.
