The shamecocks started it by taunting the clemson team as they came down the hill. Holtz stood on his sideline and did nothing as his players ran through the Clemson band to the hill. The game was chippy and both sides were talking trash. Everyone in the stands said the same thing. The officials let it get out of hand by not throwing enough penalty flags. It was a fitting end for Holtz's college career. Every program he left was hit with NCAA infractions. NC State, Minnesota, Arkansas, Notre Dame and USuC. He ran the steriod scandal at Notre Dame during the 80's and 90's. He never once had to face any sactions yet has the b@lls to right books like "Three rules for living a good life". I wonder if the books include lying and cheating.

hard to believe it was this long ago. My next door neighbor at the time was an octogenarian coot fan. Impossible to not love that lady, but she cane out and was just sooo disappointed this happened, embarrassed for both sides....
I had the idea they started the whole thing, as has been said here already, and we won the game (not sure who won the fight). Do you remember Holtz saying hed decline any bowl invitation because of the actions of his team? I dont recall clearly, but I have it stuck in my mind they werent eligible anyhow. Was this the year we made Tennessee look so silly?
