Just to be clear, our son Diondre' never said he wanted to go visit Nebraska nor Tennessee after he made his committment. This is the reason he waited so long to make his announcement in the first place. He has made visits to the schools he was interested in and Tennessee was one of them. There will be no more official visits unless it is with Clemson so please stop putting misintepreted information out unless you heard it come directly from Diondre's mouth yourself! He chose Clemson and the recruiting is over!!!!

Really, really wanted this one. Saw him on film when he first emerged almost a year ago and sorta marked him down as one of those potential game-changer talents.
His route-running was...iffy, at least on film. Rounds off his routes, looked a little raw, like a kid who hasn't played a ton of football. The rest of him is...outstanding, as close to another Calvin Johnson as I've seen in awhile. CJ was a 4.3 guy and Overton looks 4.4 or probably closer to 4.5, but Overton's still durn fast for his size and he lopes around effortlessly and gets separation even though - exactly like Megatron did at GT - he doesn't look like he's going that fast. Just pulls away. Tremendous natural hands, tremendous, smooth, natural ball-catcher...you see some guys with all the measurables who struggle to catch or adjust to the ball, this kid does, effortlessly. Elevates, looks like he can jump over the moon. Dunno what his vert is...a lot, whatever.
In terms of pure raw talent, this one is as good as we've gotten in awhile. I dunno if he's game-ready right out of the box like Megatron was - I still have nightmares about that 2004 game, which was CJ's second game in college - because Overton does look a bit unpolished but by the time he's a true soph or a redshirt freshman (if he doesn't beat a shirt), I'd expect this kid to be really emerging.
Could be dominant even by Clemson's recent standards, IMHO, if the work ethic is there. Which is saying something.

But you made a little mistake, CJs first game against GT was in 2006 when we beat them 31-7 i believe. I do agree with everything else, he looks a whole lot like Martavius Bryant imo. If he puts in the hard work, i think he can play as a true freshman.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. I believe Quozzel when using the initials CJ is referring to Calvin Johnson, while Bleed Orange, like most Tigers, sees the initials CJ and thinks Spiller. There. I'm certainly glad we got that straight. I will be moving on to settle differences in the middle east now.

Yes, I'd say Clemson (aka WRU) develops their recruits nicely. It also helps to have QBs that can get the ball to them, and an O-Line & Back that can block! All round great decision.
