There are a lot of folks who don’t understand the difference between opinions and facts. You responding to a guy who is calling Bakich an idiot in this very thread. That means jsebe has elevated his opinion to being superior to Bakich’s. It should naturally follow that jsebe views himself as more capable of coaching the team than Bakich. Which is, of course, pointedly idiotic and supporting his viewpoint, in any way, makes one equally idiotic.

I never once said Bakich was an idiot...I simply stated it was the wrong decision to let Smith go through the UF lineup a 3rd time...this is basic fundamental pitching management...plain and simple dude! I don't care how emotional you get! These gentlemen are not beyond reproach.

I think most were. I had a room full of former college baseball players and everyone said there's no way Smith goes back out after the 4th inning. We got lucky on some very hard hit fouls. He wasn't fooling anyone. He pitched a great game 1st time through the order. It's not hindsight, and I've been accused many times being negative nancy, but as a coach, you have to recognize that situation.

Fallaw, it's nothing against the coach. I love him and trust we can overcome our 22% and still win. But you have to admit that smith's pitchcount was up and he was getting hit hard in the 4th. Hey, it's a chance smith goes out and crushes the 5th... but percentages are not on your side. Absolutely it's his call to make. Absolutely he knows way more than I... a regular season series, you definitely put him back out. But look at what sully did, and most that I've watched this year, wasted no time making a change.
This is a message board, and I disagree with coaches decision. Don't change a thing. Just voicing my opinion.
