The reality is that the new power conferences aren’t about geography and culture, they are about large sums of money and big games on TV.
People need to get over their outdated ideas.

Let’s go to the B1G. Several schools within a short drive for me. Northwestern, Illinois, Wisconsin and even the Michigan schools. As it is now I only get to 1 game at Clemson and thats all. Nothing else is close except Looserville.

B10, it led to a massive amount of research and endowment $ for them that absolutely dwarfed any #s we are talking about for TV packages. B10 invite makes a school part of the Big10 Academic Alliance which is currently a 10 billion plus annual research fund which is larger than Ivy League or California University System.
