oh good grief. belicheck is not gonna tank a season so that they can draft lawrence. i can't stand new england, but nothing in their make-up suggests the team would just blow off an entire season in the hopes of drafting someone who may or may not be a great nfl talent. if watson is available, they would likely jump at the chance to take him.

With the purse of Robert Kraft being as fat as it is, why would the Patriots have to tank a season to get either of the two big time Clemson QBs. As big as the NFL really is, and with as much $$$$$$ that floats around the NFL, who can say that a couple of owners don't or won't get on one of their Yachts and cruise around out in international waters and make some of the biggest under the tables deal that's ever been made in the sport of NFL football by just two team owners getting what they want that would be the best for them and their NFL franchise!!! The Rich buy what they want, and rich men like Robert Kraft do just that, make deals with other rich men!!!

it's not quite like baseball because of the salary cap

Kraft is a tightwad too, they didn't want to pay Tom Brady a few extra million and he's arguably the best QB ever. I don't like the Pats but I'd love to see Deshaun go there and lead his team to super bowls. Obrien will get him killed in Houston.

Nether will be on the Pats next year and it's silly to discuss this as realistically possible.

Totally agree he wouldn't do that but it sure is nice to see the national narrative is about 2 Clemson QB's. Can't buy that pub and name recognition. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd see stuff like this.

Trevor will be under a whole new microscope this year

with all this tank for Trevor talk. But none of that pertains to Clemson or Trevor and is apart of the outside noise. I look forward to Elliot using Trevor and Etienne in a way that is unstoppable as it should be. I feel we didn't show that much in CFP last year. WE did well just not dominant. WE should be dominant this year. Trevor's games should feel easy and fluid. Hopefully he'll trust his instincts, arm, and experience and just go ball out.
