My goals for this year are to make my shop easier to use by reconfiguring the workflow to fit my projects and opening an Etsy store to support my hobby.
I've already almost completed the shop workflow. Cleaned out the entire area, added base cabinets to an 8-foot workspace for tabletop tools, and cabinets, and upgraded the miter station, moved my table saw and band saw location.
Now I'm working on the tools. Just sold an old lathe I never used, a 9-inch bandsaw, and I will get rid of my 8-inch drill press once a larger one is acquired. All this is to help my workflow increase so that I can actually make things instead of moving things around to make things.
I also bought an oscillating spindle sander. I should have done that years ago.

I should have gotten the spindle sander when I got the belt/disk combo...

that is still in the #### box. Also didn't pay attention that you, somebody who actaully uses such tools, posted and just went for the joke. Let me or Father G know if you are still looking in the spring. The Greenville Woodworkers guild has a HUGE tool sale twice a year, can probably pick up one there.

I got this one for free from a friend with the idea of restoring it for content.

I think it is too big for my space though. Couple that with not really knowing HOW to restore it I figure I need to just get rid of it.

I am confident that you'll find a drill press.

Because you're looking for a drill press. You might have still found a drill press even if you weren't looking for a drill press, but the odds of finding a drill press dramatically increase by actively looking for a drill press.

I may go the new route, but there's something I like about a good used machine. I feel like it has a story.

I won't even bother to try and negotiate on a used purchase especially if I find out the item I'm buying was used in a horrific murder.

It's been pretty dang good... and I pride my self in buying old heavy american iron tools and what-not, but I can't complain.
It's pretty good for a Chi-Com POS.
I've had it for 5 years and use it regularly.

a few years back. $50 cash.
The girl that sold it to me probably needed money for drugs, but maybe it was for something positive, like a trip to planned parenthood.
