What are your thoughts as to starters next year? Knaak, Darden, McGovern, Bell

Titsworth all return. We need a consistent Sat & Sun starter. McGovern could be the guy out of the pen.

Any chance at all that Cam comes back and tries to improve his draft status?

Who will step in at SS, 3B, and 1B (is Crighton the guy?). What about LF and CF? A few of our guys need some one-on-one time with a hitting coach. Priest could be a monster if he learns to hit.

Yes, it was a disappointing finish, but this team was fun to watch for most of the season. BUT in many of the games we lost, when the wheels came off, the transmission, brakes, and shocks quickly followed.

Thanks to Cam and the seniors, good luck moving forward!!!

It'll be interesting to see if Dax Kilby makes it to campus. Very highly regarded prep SS that could start immediately.

79th rated prospect on MLB.com, late second to early third might be easier to pull way, especially with NIL potentially.

I saw late first round for Dax on one of the sites.

Didn't sound promising for Clemson from some friends who live in his area.

I suspect Moehler will be competing for a rotation spot

Moehler won't be full go until April. Similar to Talen Bell this year

I’m not a hitting coach by any means, but Priest’s stance literally goes from the back of the box to the front. I feel like he’s using all arms to generate power, maybe a keep the legs closer and a leg kick might help for timing?

Incoming freshmen Dax Kilby and Jason Fultz could make up the left side of the infield. Crighton and Mccladdie could return….. castellani and wentworth will get spots…… and then a bunch of transfers

Wentworth wants to be a pitcher but will play as needed like Grice in the past.

We'll also have McGovern. He might be our closer but imo he's too good not to see multiple innings.

Prather I would expect to catch unless JJ comes back. I certainly don't see JJ going very high in the draft. Thought Prather might get more pt this year as much praise coach had given him.

I think Titsworth is much more effective coming out of the bullpen. Coach really didn’t have a choice this year but to move him to a starting position. Once he was moved into a starter’s role it had a negative effect on the entire bullpen & Garris & Mahlstedt then had to be over used. I think he could be very dominant coming out of the bullpen. He also seemed to me to be more comfortable early in year when he was in the bullpen. Hopefully some of the younger & the hurt pitchers can fill starter spots & Titsworth can go back to bullpen.

He is a perfect bullpen guy that we know can be stretched out and used as a starter if we need to

Titsworth is so much more effective coming out of the bullpen. He is the closer in my mind. Especially if you look at his strikeout numbers and I'd venture to guess that his velocity on his fastball was probably at its peak when he was in the bullpen as well if you look at just that number alone.

Stats as a reliever:

3.63 ERA, 2.82 BB/9, 11.69 K/9

Stats as a starter:

4.73 ERA, 3.34 BB/9, 5.85 K/9

I would guess the weekend rotation will be some combination of Knaak, Titsworth, Bell, and perhaps a transfer guy. Moehler will work his way in eventually if he comes back healthy.

Infield will be probably be Purify at 2B, Jarrell catching, Crighton at 1st maybe, perhaps Josh Castellani after redshirting (but I could see a transfer here), and then I believe 3B will be a power hitting transfer. I really like Brayden Simpson from High Point here.

Outfield will probably be Wentworth in RF, and then I could see a couple of transfers in CF and LF honestly. Noah Savoie from Loyola Marymount and Gavin Wideman from WKU are early favorites for me.

And then anyone but Priest DH’ing.

Forgot to mention, Dax Kilby will likely start at short if he makes it to campus. If not, I would like to kick the tires on Maryland transfer Chris Hacopian. He will cost a lot, so not sure he would come here, but it would be worth a try, dude is insanely good.

Excellent assessment and choices. I understand EB is comforting with his Michigan ties but I haven't seen any of them light up. I could careless if they came from Japan as long as they can play. Just can't forget our recruiting footprint. Heck, coastal has done well recruiting up here in Pennsylvania.

Say what you will, but it's a reason why southern teams dominate.

Wells Sykes wanted to come play at Clemson and Monte wouldn't even talk to him. Citadel picked him up and once he matured a couple years, he got good. I really wanted EB to get him out the portal last year. Our loss but Coastal scooped him up. Now their star left fielder. Had hits against us in both games.

Just one small sample size but I just haven't seen much from our transfers. Is it an eval situation? Is it a developmental issue? Idk.

There's also a reason that other teams, not private schools, coax their top 100 recruits in to attending college... and that was b4 nil. We have money. So I say the clocks ticking.

We need some power arms. we don’t have guys throwing 95-96 with nasty sliders. Knsack is good, but his fastball sits at 91-92, and if his change up is not moving, he is hittable, which he was this year.
