It will be weird seeing Ian Schieffelin on the football field

He fits in with the taller athletes in basketball at 6’8”, but on the gridiron, The Chef will be taller than pretty much everyone else.
We’re used to seeing his stockiness with his height but he will just seem tall now next to 300 lb’ers.
I like changes in perception like this. Anyone else?

He's certainly one of my favorite Clemson athletes but I just don't get it. Aren't we pretty loaded at TE? And he hasn't played football in years. Help me understand where Dabo sees him as an actual game day contributor. Ma6be he wants him there more as a leader or help develop a toughness and fight in the group. I don't know. I don't get it.

I doubt this experiment lasts into the season. Lots of examples of former basketball players turning into NFL tight ends. Those guys were freak athletes. Ian isn’t a freak athlete and he has skinny arms and no shoulders for his frame.

Yea will definitely be able to spot him on the sidelines. Can’t remember another 6’8” guy playing off the top of my head.

trying to make an nba team or euro ball. Granted he is not the nba prototype, but teams need practice players at the end of the bench. And i do believe he has the skills to earn a good living in europe. Love chef and welcome him to the team , but seems like it is a big risk for him in many ways, ...ie, his basketball future, injuries,. But i guess he will get a nice NIL package and some rev share. Also sends a message out to players with multi sports career in high school that maybe there can be a money making spot for you on the football team once your baseball, basketball, soccer career, etc, is over at clemson...

Hope he doesn't try to dribble the ball when he catches it!! He might be a good blocker...or not.
