Does Antarctica contain 90% of the world's ice? At its thickest point the ice sheet is 4,776 meters deep. It averages 2,160 meters thick, making Antarctica the highest continent. This ice is 90 percent of all the world's ice and 70 percent of all the world's fresh water.

The sheeple don't know about the Little Ice Age that was from around 1300 to 1850 AD. They'll probably claim humans caused the temperature to drop then in 1850 they changed the thermostat to warm the planet back up. They don't understand that the planet does whatever it wants and has done so for millions of years due to naturally occurring reasons. Humans did not cause the beginning or end of the Little Ice Age. The planet is warming back up likes it's done many times before with or without man.

But no, I don't believe the Geico caveman discovered fire and started global warming. The fact that global warming has become politicized and you're buying into the wrong side of it is just a sign of how terrible our country has become. Climate change is happening, the Earth is warming faster than major biomes will be able to cope with - humans will survive, we're resilient, we'll also work to make sure our ways of life and foods we eat will sustain.
Politicize if there's anything to do to fix it all you want, but denying it's happening makes you look stupid.

The first mistake leftists make is calling those who disagree with you "climate change deniers". I don't know a single person who denies the climate is changing. The climate has changed many, many times; Before, during and will after humans are gone. So....no chit, the climate is changing. Your claim is that the climate change is "man made global warming". That is what many disagree with. Funny how the term "man made" has dropped since it didn't suit the narrative. Also, funny that many probably wet their pants when they heard about man made global cooling in the 70's. Please quit saying that others deny the climate is changing. It's always changing over very long periods of time (relative to many generations of humans).
BTW, nice cartoon. Do you always get your info from cartoons?

"I don't know a single person who denies the climate is changing." - there's literally a couple in this thread, and multiple that routinely post in Tigernet, you're really not this dense are you?
"Your claim is that the climate change is "man made global warming"." - I made no such claim, the evidence certainly appears to point that way and I'll trust the scientists who have devoted their life to studying this.
"Funny how the term "man made" has dropped since it didn't suit the narrative. Also, funny that many probably wet their pants when they heard about man made global cooling in the 70's." - It's funny you're just making #### up here.
"Please quit saying that others deny the climate is changing. It's always changing over very long periods of time (relative to many generations of humans)." - Except it's changing at a significantly more rapid pace, that's the issue here.
"BTW, nice cartoon. Do you always get your info from cartoons?" - Figured you'd comment on this. He's cited his sources, and the author of xkcd, Randall Munroe, isn't just a normal cartoonist.

And, you probably believed all that fake info from "scientists" regarding Covid-19. Don't count on all your scientists to provide real science when they are being ostracize, coerced, threatened, fired if they don't go along with the narrative.

"Compared to the 1961-1990 average." What a bizarre and totally random thirty year period upon which to base this entire piece of propaganda. I'm sure it does succeed in scaring the crap out of second graders though so congrats for at least being able to fool seven year olds. No wonder they are all depressed and think they won't live to adulthood. Even this piece of garbage graph acknowledges there's been very little actual warming over the norm up until today. The really scary part is what happens over the next 100 years which is completely made up. Good job!

Regardless of the politics of who controls the city, acknowledges this problem and is working to prepare for it. But then we have to listen to people in landlocked Podunk claim it's a hoax because they can't see it with their own eyes and Fox told em so.
You want to debate whether or not we caused it? Sure. Go ahead. But denying that it's real is as dumb as being a flat earther.
And it isn't political.

The difference between city of Charleston and the state, who controls the ports. The ports are also in Mount Pleasant and North Charleston, although Mount Pleasant is also doing similar efforts to fight the rising water.

From that article's intro:
As this report suggests, there is really little choice. Overuse of fossil fuels has already given rise to an array of flooding, rain bombs, wildfires, landslides, spiking heat waves, droughts, and the threat of global food shortages. In Charleston, we see more flooding, more extreme storms, more sea level rise. Locally, there is much that we can do. Because we burn too much fossil fuel, carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) emissions are accumulating rapidly in the atmosphere, creating a greenhouse effect (hence, greenhouse gases), that overly warms the earth; this in turn has led to changes in climate patterns.
It goes on to say that Charleston is following the 'spirit' of the Paris Climate Accord, which is about all you need to know. And terms like 'overuse of fossil fuels' and 'rain bombs' frankly sound alarmist. But at least they're back to basically saying it's Global Warming causing all those hurricanes that may or may not come in the future.
