Another staff member that needs to get fired….

Since it’s a bye week, let’s talk about how atrocious game day logistics are especially the fact we can’t get the hill full before the team runs down! Who is in charge of this section? Why is the left side of the hill always empty? It’s ridiculous. And as mentioned in a below post there needs to be a game manager for cheers, music, and band to get on the same page.
Also, if the opposing team’s band plays while we run down the hill then they don’t get invited back, ever.

We need to let the fire marshal run the hill with the team. Maybe that could help improve the Hill capacity.
In the 1980's the fire marshal was focused on fires, not a green grass covered hill with 18 to 21 year olds screaming for their team to beat the coots; dawgs; billy goats; turtles; bees from the institute; criminoles; dookies; and other assorted critters.
Where is the fire risk???

It’s actually pretty simple. Students enter at gate 1 and the side that is closer gets filled first. Plus all of the other students in the stands are on that side as well.

This and the fact that they block off the area at the top of the hill 30 min before game time. You see students waiting to get to that side but they can’t until after the entrance. There really is no reason to shut that area down until they load the busses…

Help me out. Why would the fire marshall have anything to do with with the hill? It is a open piece of grass which has zero chance of catching on fire. Even if it did (which it wont) and students needed to evacuate they could simply run across the field to exit the facility.
We have too many laws and have given officials too much power.

the exact issue with the Hill and the Fire Marshal. Dabo made some tangential comment about the Hill back in 2017:
"The Hill deal that is more administration or whoever," Swinney said. "They won't let them in there like they used to until we come down the Hill or something. I don't understand all that. Fire marshal or whatever. It's kind of out of my lane."
So... Why doesn't one of our great TigerNet reporters go down to the Clemson University Fire Station and do an in depth interview with the Fire Marshal and get to the bottom of the issue? Seriously - go ask the guy what fire code is preventing the Hill from being filled before the players run down it and what work around can be done to fix it. If it can't be fixed - then at least give us the actual reason (not speculation) directly from the Fire Marshal himself.

I agree 100%. The Athletic Department needs to hire a director of Fan Engagement like many other schools and professional sports teams have done. The student gates and hill situation needs to be addressed or just add seats there. It looks terrible!
It’s not a fire marshal issue as it fills up fine after the team has run down it.
Next we someone to direct cheers and band songs etc. We are falling behind real fast!!!
IMO DRad is taking advantage of football success and charging $90 a ticket and not providing any entertainment at games.
Alcohol sales also needs to be revisited!
Unfortunately games are now all about entertainment and you must provide it or get left behind. $400 for a family of 4 it better be exciting.

I think (just a guess), they fill the hill with students from the right side (gate 1). Once they roll the carpet down the hill, they rope off that area, they won't allow anyone past the rope to access the left side.
Easy fix if this is the case.

Ok, I'm in charge of this section, The Hill. I clean it up, stuff it with loudn students and then ya'll can get back to being loud in your own seats. You're welcome.
