Why are Democrats losing? I just saw an interview with Kurt Bardella

on NewsNation, and he absolutely nailed it. Dem leadership is living in an increasingly progressive, elitist bubble that isolates them from huge swaths of working class middle America, and instead of realizing and accepting that, and then trying to figure out how to reach them, they simply dismiss them as bad, ignorant people. Just so ya know, I think Pubs do a lot of the same thing, and at some point down the road may be in danger of losing for the same reason (not having a broader, more inclusive message).

I can't find any clips available of that interview yet, but here is one from a few days ago where he covers those points pretty well:

Above all else, love and forgive. Understand that people who disagree with you are not necessarily idiots or your enemies. Respect the wisdom of the founding fathers and individual rights and freedoms. Always see the beauty and humor in life.

The Democrats are too honest

The Republicans have really gained traction in this voter segment by lying to them about populism. This demographic is screaming out for a true progressive Democratic populist to come and make their lives better.

Which I think is going to be the next step for the Democrats because they're not winning by being moderates.

I don't think you will get a true progressive to not focus on identity politics though. Or maybe you can tell me what a true progressive would be?

I don't think Trump is one of a kind. I think to win the Dems need middle of the road. I like Wes Moore. Of course Gavin Newsom will go all out, but I think he would have problems being from California.

You lost me on honest! Neither side is honest at all and the Dems are just gonna promise free stuff they can never deliver on to possibly win.
Current crop of Pubs are no different though, both sides are clueless they just approach it from different sides.

Plus one can not get elected by telling the truth on the economy, taxes etc. $36T in debt , it is time to stop digging that hole and admit we desperately need spending cuts AND tax increases.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're probably right. Ideally, we need an excellent communicator who

can deliver a message that acknowledges truthful realities and underscores the necessity of it while emphasizing the hope and prosperity that will ultimately follow. Unfortunately, that's a tough message most peple do not want to hear.

Part of the reason the Dems lost the Presidential election was because of the obvious lie that Joe Biden was mentally fit for office that was exposed during the debate.

They support an open border
They support sanctuary cities/states
They support men in women's sports
They support DEI
They support Hamas
They support judicial legislation
They support high taxes, thinking ultra-wealthy "fair share" taxation will solve the debt
They support free healthcare/housing/education for illegal aliens

But their entire platform is "Hate Trump"

Shall I continue?

I think you are accurate sadly. The white privilege comments don't help either. Anything woke hurts their cause actually.

And this country still can’t handle a female in charge.

The beauty of Trump’s first term was that he didn’t really do anything. This term he’s actually doing stuff and people don’t like it.

This country can handle a female. If it's the right female and she was not. Its like how everyone said we couldn't handle a black president until Obama won twice. You can just put somebody out there that people don't like just because she fits some demographics they want to push.

which is why we've seen a rise in white nationalism immediately following his presidency.

But Obama won twice because of the economy. That's how important the economy is to deciding elections.

Don't forget that you're gonna die of old age before you see the party that's screamed like banchees about less than 1% of govt spending being cut suddenly advocating massive spending cuts anywhere outside the DoD.

Ditch the MAGAs and have a real Conservative Party.

They have missed on reaching millennials and Gen Z with an Abundance Mindset

Mar 20, 2025, 3:42 PM

Example: Abundant Housing
The most important voting demographic needs more affordable housing in order to start families, and despite record job numbers, the cost of housing made this once core feature of the American success path extremely challenging.

To make housing abundant, they need to reform all of the local laws that hinder development of inexpensive housing. So massive deregulation and incentivizing a variety of housing types but especially the kind that makes the financial realities of procreating a nuclear family a realistic choice for young people.

Then the abundance mindset needs to be applied to everything else that really matters to health and welfare of young working people. The idea is that if it is abundant enough, it will be more attainable in a competitive world. So more abundant health care, more abundant transportation, abundant energy, etc. This obviously would be antithetical to older boomers who wanted regulations on everything, especially development in their backyards.

It’s actually not my idea at all, but these guys wrote a compelling book that describes what the Dems should be talking about.

It’s actually called “Abundance”.
