leading us to true contention for a national championship.
He doesn't see the field well enough, and his deep ball has got way too much air under it.
That said, I think he and this team are perfectly capable of running the table and winning the ACCCG.
Our regular season schedule is favorable, and our D is good enough to make up for some offensive lapses.
A conference championship and playoff birth will be a step in the right direction, and that is a very reasonable goal with Cade at QB.

I also would like a championship and a playoff invite. Right now I would consider 10 and 3 a successful season though.

I understand what you're saying but the reality is that there may not be more than half a dozen college QBs you could really say can lead a team into championship contention by themselves. And half a dozen may be being a bit generous.

Looking at the schedule, there is no reason we should lose to anyone left. Doesn’t mean we’ll win out, but we could and should.
If we did, we’re in the playoffs win or lose the ACC championship. With another loss, we have to win the ACC to get in.

6.2%, and that's actually the 6th highest in the country. Its really difficult to win that many games in a row.
I definitely would not say we "should" win out as that would imply odds well over 50%.

In terms of shear quantitative analysis, I agree the odds are low.
However, I was referring more to our roster talent versus the talent of remaining opponents.

Which game are they gonna lose. I heard Clemson is favored in every game. If they are favored in every game how does that translate in to 6.2% chance of winning out?

He was also phenomenal against UNC in the ACC Championship a couple of years ago, and we saw that it was an outlier.
Here's to him turning the corner and playing really well consistently, but if I were a betting man, I would bet that he will continue having ups and downs as he has throughout his Clemson career.

Every player has ups and downs but I am betting we see a consistently better version this year than we saw last year meaning the average performance would be a couple of steps higher.

If they protect him and give him time, he can find these Freshmen receivers and TEs. If he is hurried and on the run, things have shown to breakdown.
For me, a lot rides on the consistency of the OL.

Offensive Line is the MVP of this offense right now imo. Consistent so far and I hopefully they continue that path. Matt Luke has done an outstanding job. But yeah I’m with you with this OL playing consistent like they have been and we will move the ball against anyone imo.
Don’t think OL has allowed a sack yet. Impressive turnaround.

UNC game vs App St poor comparison. UNC game 50/50 heavs, App St game vision, throws on a rope and dropping dimes! Cade has the arm to take the top off Ds, now he has the weapons to allow him to do it.

Wait, you think Cade's not as good as Tom Brady in his prime? My eyes say you are correct. My eyes also say he is the best QB on our roster. I noticed a ton of improvement between this year and last year so it is not unreasonable to believe he will get better this season due to improved confidence + experience.

When people talk about a good pocket passer's ratings 75% completion rate is unheard. I've seen helmet stickers given to managing QBs who hit 65% rates. 92%, 24 of 26 with the two incompletes throwaways to keep from getting sacked and you're not sold? What's your sticker price?

They do show a capability though, which is nice to see.

So would you agree Cade has the talent needed to make the offense go? And that coaching/offensive philosophy is a huge factor in why this Clemson team has struggled. Would you also agree that fans are throwing dirt on this kid prematurely and not looking at the big picture?
Dj was different, that was 2 straight years of him throwing super late, as hard as he can for no reason, and being wildly inaccurate. Cade has made bone head decisions more than just being wildly inaccurate(that's coaching) Dj had actual issues with accuracy and knowing when to take a Lil off the ball as evident on his last 2 teams and his past 2 games.

While cade wasn't amazing verse Georgia I don't think he was terrible. Our receivers were a huge letdown less Williams, great game by him. A lot of that is on Dabo though, he didn't start our best players, and I'd imagine he was one who set the depth chart. The one deep ball Turner gave up on I'm sure Wesco would have caught and that alone could have swung the momentum. Same with randal penalty.
Glad Cade had a good game, he needed it for his confidence which I think is underrated, against a good D you don't have time to hesitate.

That’s because you don’t like the kid there’s nothing he could do to change your opinion. If he took the team to the national championship and lost you would boast about how you were right. Cade just needs to play his game and forget about trying to please fans who will never be pleased

If Cade has good blocking and the right weapons on the field he can be a good QB. He’ll never be Trevor or Deshaun but I don’t think he has reached his ceiling. Looking forward to seeing this offense continue to improve

I "kinda" see what you're saying.....no, not really.
You hedged a little with the "true" contention. I'm not gonna over think this. I don't really like the number of times the ball spins on his spiral. Maybe if he moved his back foot up a half inch or so on his delivery....
There are sooo many things that have to happen to win a National Championship. Like a missed field goal in 2016.
Like you say, he can get us in. Once there, anything can happen. Enjoy the ride!
Go Tigers!

You need to look at the replay again.
The TD balls thrown to Williams, Moore and both to Brinigstool were ropes, plus several others that weren't TDs. The ones for TD thrown to Wesco and several longer balls were thrown with some arc because there was a trailing defender and arc is needed to drop the ball over the defender and to the receiver.
I don't know what you were looking at, but every completion I saw was an NFL caliber throw.

It was app state but I saw a qb read the field and go through his progressions well. Dabo said he checked Antonio Williams into that post route for his TD. O line hasn't allowed a sack so he has had time to go through his progressions. He's not use to that. Cade will be fine.

I don’t think it’s Cade I think this teams isn’t ready for that yet. Cade showed yesterday if he has time and can set his feet he is very capable of delivering the deep ball. Only one was under thrown. The 1st one to Wesco definitely did not have too much air under it. The second one to Wesco may have but it was on time and had he not had that type of throw Wesco may not have been able to catch it the way he did.
The reason I say team is because I want to see the OL continue to preform that way. I want to see the WR continue to preform that way. The LB play right now is a liability.
