Previous across the street neighbors. The wife is from Western Canada. Nice people. Adorable daughter and a son who was a baby when they moved out of our old hood.
Anyhow, last night my wife tells me they have moved to Canada.
Said to the missus, I get it. IF I was Canadian AND I had young kids. And I saw the current sh*tshow, which will have on-going repercussions for at least a generation (e.g., the Dems will likely win back the government, but they will go too far Left with their agenda, trying to correct Trump, then the MAGAs will rise up again, etc., etc., while meantime the whole rest of the world us up in flames) I might move too.

Remember that time Seattle burned to the ground, but the entire protesting event was in a 4 square block area? I remember that, it was crazy. And Minneapolis? We hardly knew ye. Just a smoking pit where a city used to be now.

I too know one that is moving soon.
I'm still trying to hold on to the faith that the military will stand strong for us. The officials in the Pentagon hate Hegseth and the troops are mainly loyal to their oath. Saturday could be a big telling moment for us.
The Caribbean looks much nicer, though...

I know a couple that moved to Canada, although not for any particular political reason I'm aware of. They made it through a couple of winters and then moved back. Apparently it gets pretty cold up there. Who knew?

Their housing is crazy expensive. It's like everywhere has California prices. Even places that are in the middle of nowhere.
Couple that with crazy taxes and I don't get it.
