Selling a bad car....

MIL owns a 2012 Chevy Cruze with 220k miles on it. In spite of my pleading she sunk $1,300 into a new radiator (and some other work) that was a waste of money.
She can't drive - wheelchair bound - and it is only used to take her to her doctors app'ts as she can't climb into a truck or SUV.
I think we've finally convinced her to sell it meaning the burden falls on me to do the legwork.
Where's the best place to unload a POS car?

Plant the idea that he can put a tow hitch on it and get a trailer for almost nothing.

I assume buddybook is the best place to unload it

But I actually sold my last vehicle like the old days by parking it at the end of the driveway.
I assume that won't work where you live, but maybe where she lives.
Looks like you maybe could get $2K for it if it doesn't have any serious problems.
Of course buddybook is a pain in the sack with all the scams just like CL.
Maybe you could have luck dropping it by a used car dealer and get $500 if you don't want to deal with it.

I'm trying to sell my truck on these places, and have gotten most (well, all) of my leads from Cars.com.
As McLubbin sayid, Buddybook is so full of scammers I didn't even bother. Same with CL.

But the risk is higher with a car and I didn't want to roll the dice that one would slip by me.

Do you have good insurance on it? Because I know a place

where we can burn it.
Here's what to do. Hide the car. Call police. Tell them it's stolen. Wait about 2 days. Burn car. Collect on insurance.

I have never sold a car that I didn't feel was safe and dependable. I usually blow my sales pitch by revealing everything I know or suspect about the cars as needing attention.
I've never sold a car to a woman or anyone younger than 30 years old or anyone who was fundamentally ignorant of auto repairs.

insist on no texts, no emails. They must call you. Cuts out a lot of riff raff daydreamers and scammers. Cash only, price it low. Park it in a visible place w/traffic close to your house.
I've done exactly this many times and sold cars. Not kilt or scammed yet.

Check out places around CarMax.
Most used dealers pay more than CarMax.
I THINK CarMax will give you a quote good for a day or two and then you can check other offers.
We got 10% more than CarMax offered from another place nearby.

Both times I have gotten one the dealer beat their price by a little without my even asking. Of course both of those times I was buying a vehicle. Sound advise none the less.
