College baseball, recruiting and baseball in the Southeast.
75% of the people on here blame monte for recruiting and yet 1-2 years ago you praised him for having 4-5 top 20 classes in a row. 85% of the line up that swept USC last year played and pitched against USC this year, but couldn't get it done. Clemson has arms, Smith was a projected 1st rd kid, now for some reason he losses 3MPH and can't throw strikes, now that's on Monte and Lecroy I guess. How good was EB portal kids and yes he had all summer to get Portal kids so don't say he didn't have a chance to bring in kids.
Our top kids are freshmen, who were brought in by Lecroy ans Monte and every kid that came from MI isn't even mid pack Southeast talent. I agree EB needs some time, but guys this roster isn't as bad as this and if you think so your head is in the sand.

Look at every baseball team and they all look the same and there is very little difference in the talent levels so recruiting is tough. Coaches recruit the best players they can but the margin between good and really good is very small. Wake has a combination of several really good pitchers and several really good hitters and we just ran into a top team.

can’t believe we still have monte worshipers still. Point blank he won with jacks guys early on. He wasn’t a bad recruiter or lecroy but guess what you can recruit great in any sport. That doesn’t automatically means wins. Ask A&M in football. Was hunter renfrow in football a stud in hs? Was Chad Kelly or willy Korn hood in college? They didn’t develop. It’s not hard to see that.

All we lost was Max Wagner really. That’s it from the offensive standpoint. Corbitt has been injured, but Cannarella is a heck of an addition to what should’ve already been a potent high run scoring offense. It’s getting to be that time we have to turn it on. This season has been a big time disappointment to this date. That doesn’t mean we can’t make a move.
