Heisman winner or 1st overall pick or a draft from the Panthers. Its just something ive come to accept. The NFL, "draft experts", and scouts will never let a Clemson player go #1. They will make dang sure they talk the potential player down until the owners/GMs/HCs are too scared to draft them. The media will make dang sure no Clemson player will win the Heisman because "we dont play anybody". And then there is the Panthers, they just hate Clemson all together for some reason. All 3 of these are just like taxes, you know theyre coming every year but theres nothing you can do about it, just gotta accept it as life.

I think the Heisman schools are under a Heisman curse/prejudice.
John Heisman coached at 8 colleges. Only one has ever had a player win a Heisman (Auburn 3x) and that's because they're SEC.
Ga Tech and Clemson players have no realistic chance due to competition. Trevor could go 40-1 as a starter and never win a Heisman.
Oberlin, Akron, Washington & Jefferson, Rice and Penn players have no chance because John Heisman is no longer coaching there.

In the 25 year existence of the Panthers have they ever drafted a Clemson player? NOPE! Have they passed up on Clemson players in prior years that fit their scheme better than the player selected? YEP! Did they just do it this year picking Derrick Brown, a DT, over the most complete player in the draft and pass up on the spot they needed to fill (LB/DB which Simmons is 2 or 3 players in one) more than DL? YEP! It is more out of spite and principle now that they wont draft a Clemson player. They are stuck on the SEC players, period! Hope that answers your question.
