Hill follow-up

Oct 10, 2022, 9:53 AM

We had a pretty good discussion on here a few weeks ago after a student posted very specific issues with the process for sitting on the Hill. Having to get arm-band, get scanned twice, etc. I reached out to Graham Neff and some others and the AD response is as follows:

"Apologize for the delayed response here… Been an ‘wide-open’ few week stretch.

The NC State game certainly proved to be an incredible environment. The Hill showed a bit better than La Tech game, but still much room for improvement. We’re continuing to work with CUPD, Facilities and our Athletics operations staff to make improvements. But we’re inherently limited based on capacity restrictions on the Hill that are more limited this year.

It’s important, and we’re working on it, the best we can.

Appreciate your note and support. Hope to see you for the Syracuse game"

I really appreciate his response and it is sort of "boilerplate" but I do think they are actually working on it. I did find it interesting his comment that the capacity restrictions "are more limited this year". Who and why are they moving the goalposts?

So we put men on the moon 50 years ago and now we can’t figure out how to put students on the Hill? Come on, this isn’t rocket science.

The moon doesn't represent a fire hazard. Lack of oxygen you know?

I had so hoped we were past Hill discussions. Of all the things that could affect our teams chances of winning games, I firmly believe Hill attendance doesn't even make the Top 100.

What makes college football special is tradition. We are know for "the Hill", UGA the hedges, I could go on and on. What does affect our chances of winning are recruits. We have often started taking some of them to the top of the Hill to get the experience. It is a better experience with a packed Hill. It cant help but think it really helps with recruits when Fowler is saying the best entrance in all of college sports.
Lets keep it that way!

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

Thanks for the update and staying on it. It's a huge Clemson

tradition and I don't get why people don't seem to appreciate that.

Yes, I mean companies, sport teams often spend millions trying to establish a "brand". Our brand is the Tiger Paw and the Hill (rock) and we are known across the nation for that. I don't want the watered down version.
