can be co-opted.
There is no more America - there is only hysteria and reverse racism that rushes to judge.
I have a brother who is a 25-year veteran cop. he and I have spoken about virtually all of these incidents. He was prepared to quit if Clinton had won in 2016. He will certainly quit if Biden wins this year.
In his words: "When the public no longer supports allowing the Professionals to do their jobs, to determine right and wrong, then the public no longer supports Law and Order. At that point, no Cop is safe, anywhere."
This is you America, this is YOU.

I have close friends that are cops. What happened to Jacob Blake was wrong. Even they have said that. It can be an extremely difficult job that requires much more training and a higher salary, just like teachers. Are there bad cops? yes but not that many. Most of the mistakes are made in a moment of extreme stress. Being taught how to handle these situations requires practice, time, and money.
Are you and I willing to pay more in our taxes to support that? I am, in a heartbeat. I believe in our police force, but they need financial support, and that will require a tax increase.
Just like with the bad cops, don't let the idiots on the other side skew your perception of liberals or independents. its the 10% of both sides that create the division among the rest of us.

Honest question...
Why do your friends say it was wrong?
1. He was non-compliant. 2. He had been stunned and kept moving; the taser had no impact. 3. He knew police had weapons drawn. 4. He reached in his car (and it only takes a second to pull a weapon on you). 5. He was still moving/reaching after several shots.
I try to take an unbiased viewpoint here, especially with my background, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why this is wrong. I know this isn't combat, but that's an easy decision for a Marine. The only difference is a Marine doesn't get armchaired like a police officer, which causes hesitation for the next guy in this circumstance... hesitation that could lead to you not making it home to your family.
I've seen how quick a weapon can be pulled and fired. Reaction times aren't enough to eliminate a threat before being fired upon. You have to make a decision BEFORE the round is fired or you'll end up dead.

is that Blake put his own kids in jeopardy by reaching into the car. Had he pulled back with a firearm, those kids would have been caught in a crossfire.
I have absolutely no Sympathy for anyone who does that to their own kids.

Big difference between "unfortunate" and "wrong" and the left wing kooks who think a cop should stand idly by while a guy behaves in that manner are the ones who don't know the difference. Should we expect a town to burn every time someone refuses to comply with the instructions of a police officer because that's what always happens. Some lowlife scumbag, high on God knows what, doesn't do what they are told and they get shot. Then other lowlife scum bags burn down the city/town in which it occurs.

9 people...and not only do the cops arrest him without firing a shot, they take the murderer to Burger King, because after all, he’s hungry. But a black man makes ONE WRONG MOVE, and he ends up paralyzed. Even the good cops shut up and cover up for those few bad apples you like to talk about.

Black man raped girl, arrest warrant issued and court ordered to stay away from girl. Black man goes to girls house, threatens her and steals her car keys. Girl calls 911. Police arrive, black man resists arrest and is tazed to no effect. Black man has a knife in his hand while going around car to open door and possibly get a gun and is shot. All seen on video. Also, black man had a rap sheet that included several weapons charges. But you want to blame the cops. Ok.

Notice the "honest" CBS report. They picture him as "walking away", wearing his cap BEFORE the street scuffle, where he lost the cap. Therefore, he "walked away" bareheaded long after the CBS video was made.

The lesson I see from that, is don't put yourself out in the middle of trouble brewing, or you maybe forced to protect yourself, and that can lead to you going to jail for a very long time. Get in your home, lock the doors, and kill anybody breaking your door down, or trying to set fire to your home with you locked inside!!! Do that, and you will never see a jail cell!!! And if a cop tells you to get on the ground, hit the dirt!!!

That's the Law.
Is it "sad". Yes.
Is it "regrettable". Yes.
Is it "Racist"? No.
Is the situation "based in the failure of the Police to secure Blake initially". To some degree - but only some, and it is not the base causality.
Further, to ignore the base issue in public commentary does not help - it makes things worse. Either people are going to let the Police do their jobs, or the people will second-guess Police into total ineffectiveness.
And yes, it is as simple as that.
You want to pay more for more Training - cool, I'm with you on that. But let's not obscure the issue that really exists at the bottom of this.
There's a simple statistic that shows that people of African descent who migrate to this country do 30% or more better than African-Americans who were born to this country. It is clear that African Americans are fed up with the failure of their culture. To universally blame it on "systemic racism" or "Police brutality" is ridiculous to the point of criminality.

The guy was resisting arrest, how was the cop to know what he was about to do once he reached in his vehicle. These guys risk their lives to uphold the law, and resisting arrest puts those guys lives in imminent danger!!!

Trying to figure out which of his words disrespected every police officer in the state.
"We had a long conversation as a team about all that," he said. "There's really no words to describe it other than just incredibly disgusting, disappointing to see something like that take place. If there's a positive and it's hard to find a positive, but if there is one, it's hopefully the awareness that's been created since May and high alertness to make sure that people are held accountable and things are done right. It's just really you don't have any words for it."

The way I read it he didn’t really pass judgment on who was at fault. I think we can all agree that a person being shot multiple times is disgusting and disappointing regardless of what leads up to it or if it’s justified or not. He also went on to say that enough attention is put on these situations now to make sure people are held accountable and things are being done right. To me he choose his words in such a way that he really didn’t point the finger at anyone.

I say let the police decide to which calls they answer. They can’t win for losing. Best thing you can do is comply with what they tell you. If you don’t then you’re taking your life into your own hands.

Amen, if a cop tells you to get down on the ground, don't show him/her that you're not going to obey their order, just get on the ground, and it is just that simple!!! The laws are the rule, and cops unhold the law. Don't act as though you are the King, and the cop is the Pawn, if you do, you will lose that argument bc they can't back down and allow the laws they swore to uphold to be disrespected, abused or shunned!!!

When should we expect the "media" to ask him to comment on every illegal immigrant who murders a US citizen? How about every black person who is murdered by another black person? Why don't the "media" ever ask anyone about those far more prevalent and destructive incidents? Why don't they ask him what he thinks about the criminals burning down an entire town? How about a question about the old man that was beaten within an inch of his life trying to protect his store? Anybody asking about this guy and none of these other victims should be removed from the premises for being a DNC operative, not to mention a moron.

Your so weak. When someone points out the truth to you their racist. I'm guessing you and numbers do not get along very well.
If he starts to pull a knife on me and I am not sure if it's a knife or gun, he's dead. I'm emptying the clip and going home to my family. The decision was made by him to escalate the situation.
Dabo was wrong in his comments and I'm guessing at some point, he had a stern talking to by the administration about moving his stances more toward the criminals.
Again, white black or green, I'm going home at the end of my shift if you put my life in danger. The guy was a career criminal who should have already been in jail.
Now go along with your but but but but your racist crap. When your sitting on your but and not in the situation of your life or his, it's easy to criticize

Are you a racist if you don't close your eyes to the crime of resisting arrest and and possessing a weapon while resisting arrest and trying to enter their vehicle where there could have been a firearm that could have led to the deaths of the cops doing their job that they were sent to that address to do. Are we racist if we don't close our eyes to what was seen on a video with the exception of a black man being shot. If that had been a white man, I think he would have also been shot when he tried to enter that vehicle with the cops continued attempt to get the man in custody!!!

Perhaps it would be best that we all take a deep breath and wait for ALL the facts to come in before weighing in on this matter. I don’t know all the facts, but what I have read is that the person shot in Kenosha had been charged previously with sexual assault and the cops were called to a domestic disturbance. There was apparently some confusion over whether this man had a knife. Perhaps not? He apparently struggled with the police officers. He apparently was hit with a Taser. He still did not comply with the police. He then headed to his car and was reaching inside for what? Was he looking for coffee and doughnuts for the officers? Maybe, but probably not. At this point, the officers shot this man in the back obviously trying to kill him. Why is this immediately labeled as a racist move by the cops? Do we know that to be the motivation of the cops or were they placed in an untenable position by this man’s continued refusal to comply. I could be wrong, but I suspect had this man been of any race, the outcome would have been the same. It would have taken a split second for this man to turn around if he had a gun and shoot the cops. So are we saying the rules of engagement should be for the cops to be staring down the barrel of a gun levied at them before they can respond? If that’s to be the standard, we soon will have no police force. If we assume the narrative that a significant number of police are racists and looking to shoot black people for the slightest of reasons, and I personally don’t share that view, wouldn’t it be incredibly prudent if you are a black man to comply with the officer’s instructions? It may be proven that the cops acted inappropriately. It may be proven that this shooting was even racially motivated. It may be proven that the cops tried to control the situation and only after they truly were afraid this man was going for a weapon did they react and use deadly force which fortunately wasn’t deadly. The truth may lay somewhere in the middle, but we all need to wait until the full story is available before coming to a conclusion. I hate this for the man who was shot. I hate this for the cops involved in the shooting. I hate what this has done to the residents of Kenosha and I hate that this is tearing our country apart.

Unfortunately there continues to be a RUSH TO JUDGEMENT. I cannot explain why there were 7 shots. But I also saw a suspect rushing to reach into his car, where there could have been a gun. This shooting could have easily been avoided if the suspect had behaved better. Haven't we all learned by now that we cannot give the police officers reason to fear our actions?!?!?!?!

Absolutely correct!!! All that people have to do, is put themselves in that cops position, then ask yourself if you would have done the same. I think that if you had seen all that they have personally seen, you would try and make sure that it wasn't going to be you that's getting shot!!!
