football hooligans.
It got close to that at CU vs. Colo State.
The pros have always had the working class fans.
Now college has social media to stir things up.
More people will die.

Big reason we quit going to Columbia for USC/Clemson

20ish years ago a grown man threatened to punch my mom in the face. I've had all sorts of stuff thrown at me. My friends girlfriend, who actually went to USC at the time, was hit in the back of the head with a glass bottle while sitting in the stands.
Pretty amazing more people haven't been seriously hurt or killed down there when you think about it. Almost every Clemson fan I've talked to who has attended a game down there has similar stories.

THeir fans are trash, barely above the typical Georgia fans

I had a grown man swing at me in Williams Brice when I was about 16 years old. He threatened to hit me with his ring, which was a gold ring with a gamecock emblazoned on it, not a graduation ring, just a grown man wearing a gold gamecock ring.
I might have mocked him about his ring.

Is this like how crunchy witchy broads charge up their crystals in moonlight before music festivals? Gamecock fans power their lucky gameday rings by giving portapotty HJ’s?

Another time in Death Valley against Auburn that one awesome game, was a gorgeous 330p game, this Auburn broad was across the aisle from us sitting in the heart of the Clemson players family section and had a Pom-Pom that she was aggressively swinging at first, then she starting hitting Clemson fans with it, then reaching across the aisle and hitting my brother with it. Everyone in the whole section was pissed at her, so I leapt across the aisle, snatched her pompom which shredded into a million bits of plastic confetti, and launched it down towards the field. Big nasty broad, she tried to grab a hold of me but Clemson folks around pulled her off of me, security came down and escorted her out.
I think that was the same game that I tripped, spilled my nachos, and face planted walking back down from the portal to our seats. I don’t know what my BAC was that day, but I bet it was at least 3 standard deviations above the mean in the stadium.

Was from the Rod Gardner catch 2 game. I was in my mid 20’s and I’d had enough bourbon to be game ready but not so much that I was on the wrong side of the bell curve.
We were walking to the stadium and there was some sweet old grandma selling Clemson hats she had made herself, and then this drunk coot student came right up to her and yelled “THOSE ARE THE UGLIEST F-ING HATS I’VE EVER SEEN!
I was probably 10 feet away and I said “people can take those hats off—-you’re stuck with that dumb effing inbred face”
So he comes charging up to me saying “what’d you say?” But like a dumbazz he had his arms down by his side, so I just popped him in the nose and he crumbled. Then I realized I really didn’t want to talk to the police that night so we GTFO and went and enjoyed the game.

and started threatening my little brother. His wife tried to chill him out but he wasn't having it. Eventually he went to shove my little brother (12 or so I think) and he missed. I put a hand on his shoulder and just pushed him towards his own momentum. He went rolling down the stadium stairs.

as we went 45-0 and also for Shixty-Shree to Sheventeen.
The danger, angst, and misery of attending a loss there is more than compensated by attending a victory. From the top of the upper deck you can see the tail lights stretching for miles, in the middle of the third quarter, as they give up and go home.

But I always thought as you get older, you realize once you have no idea who you are picking a fight with and the dude on the other end may look like nothing but could be some ex-Ranger mf'er as lethal as they come. Or you pop the guy, he has a glass jaw, and as he falls unto the curb you realize too late he has a glass skull too and so congratulations you've just committed a murder.
