Cleaned them out, ran the duster through them and lit the pilot and tested.
Tomorrow morning will be the first cup of coffee by the fire before all #### breaks lose when the kids wake up for school.

A cast iron fireplace. That thing could heat the whole house. We called it no heat November bc all I did was make fires. Now my new place has the dumb gas logs again but it wasn’t made to be a real fireplace so can’t switch it without paying a lot of money.

It's cold, so you start a wood stove to get warm.

Ah, umm, hmmm? I use to like some cold. Now, it's tolerable when there's no wind. Plus, heavy work is better in the cool. Not that I seek it much. Warm is better with a breeze cause sweat, gnats, mosquitoes, etc. Some people just can't be satisfied!

We had gas logs in our large stone fireplace when we built the house 30 years ago. Took them out the second year and been burning firewood since. I’ll burn a fire almost every night from now until April. There’s nothing like a cup of coffee, good movie or ball game, and a crackling fire.
