Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Aug 16, 2021, 7:40 AM

Friday night, went to a liquor store we learned about Thursday night.

Saturday, really #### near nothing.

Sunday, mowed some grass and not a whole lot else. It was a restful weekend.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

I quite enjoyed the weekendiness of it all.

Aug 16, 2021, 7:56 AM

Friday, went to visit RH Mom after work, back home for Hot SPAM tacos, rice and beans, and cold Mexican beers. Noodled on the new bass a bit and watched something on TV, but I cannot remember what it was.

Saturday, Coffee & Vinyl Saturday morning, then went out and washed the Tundra for the first time in a decade or so. Drove clean truck to the dump, then to check on mom since RH Sis went to Clemson for IPTAY meeting. Back home just in time for the Tornadocane that I caused by washing said aforementioned Tundra. We faired pretty well but neighborhoods all around us had some pretty massive damage. Back over to Mom's for take out from Casa Tequila, which may have the best street tacos in town. Back home to grab bass for MEDIUM volume acoustic jam. Ran through a ton of material and had a blast.

Sunday, coffee and a few light house chores, then over to the lake with the pup for a couple of hours. Back home to give the pup a bath and then to check on mom and make the grocery run. Back to the house to get Mrs. and off to the see Pat Reedy and the Long Time Goners at the Thirsty Beaver. Back home and made a quick bagel sandwich and watched Beckett on Netflix. Not a bad movie, but OK. Or, I was too tired by then to care about what Mrs. picked to watch.

Not an action-packed weekend but good enough that I'm willing to try it again at the end of this week...18.75/19 Covids.

Re: Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Aug 16, 2021, 7:58 AM

Friday met with one of my partners to think over OR block time and clinic space. Afternoon took my daughter out to the farm for the weekend. Phone died somewhere in Clarendon county east of 95, never driven to the farm that way before. Was quite an adventure, thank god eventually found 15 near Bishopville and found my bearing. Hung out, Grilled some nice bone in pork chops, drank too many beers.

Saturday morning went and drove a Cayenne Sport hybrid... have to be honest, didn’t like the hybrid engine, felt it chug switching between electric and gas at about 2500 rpms. The cayenne was nice inside, but wasn’t as spicy to drive as I’d hoped. Might have just been the hybrid deal. Found a C450 AMG here locally that I might go check out. Saturday afternoon took down the electric fence around the dove field, bushogged a couple rows to get prepped for the hunt. Sprayed the chufa food plots, got sweaty. Smoked some ribs and wings, drank too many beers.

Sunday AM fished around the pond trying to catch me a slaunch ditch pickle, no luck. Packed up and headed home. 5 year old enjoyed herself, will be good to get her out in the woods more. She starts kindergarten this week!

Re: does the electric fence

Aug 16, 2021, 8:08 AM

It creates a vertical electrical vortex that functions like a tornado wall to keep the doves trapped in... come to think of it, probably shouldn’t have taken it down before we hunt it...

Pretty relaxing.

Aug 16, 2021, 8:02 AM

Friday, I put together a LEGO set like a nerd. It was an easy one though to practice before I do the Seinfeld one. I ate some gummies and had leftover pizza for supper.

Saturday, got a hare and decided I wanted to do some kayaking. Finished a 2-hour route in about 55 minutes. Capsized in deep water and had to drag my kayak to some rocks. Lost my flip flops. Came home and took a shower and then went and had some crab cakes at 1801 Grille before coming home and cooking up a steak and a tater.

Sunday, took the dogs to Jake's to romp around a little bit with other doggies. Went over to Home Team to have some wings and purposely didn't order the Gamechanger, which is the most overrated cocktail item of all time. Didn't order anything really, since I'm been on the wagon (off the wagon?) for 16 days now.

Had some crab legs, which were delicious.

Watched the Season Finale of the White Lotus, and boy did it deliver! Such a great miniseries. Now I'm here.

Vacationy...

Aug 16, 2021, 8:04 AM

Was with family and mom-of in Fripp last week thru Saturday. Quite possibly was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. Was able to monitor work from cell/tablet and didn't turn on laptop once...that was a first for me and was really nice.

Did a lot of swimming, some beaching, some fishing, ate a lot of good seafood and drove kids around on a golf cart petting deer each night.

Got back home on Saturday afternoon and watched some preseason football.

Sunday...did some grocery shopping, clothes washing, watched Crashed on Netflix with the wife, and not much else.

at the Marina, you can supplement a large grocery haul during the week.

But the drive back to Lady's Island stores isn't that bad and I actually kind of like it.

Spent a lot of formative time during my youth at Penn Center in Frogmore so I enjoyed going back there a couple of times throughout the week and looking for houses that I worked on (a looong time ago) with Salkehatchie.

Amazingly awesome and full of kid time

Aug 16, 2021, 9:00 AM

Friday - had some friends over and grilled, drank a couple of beers. Kids played great together and had fun. Nothing too crazy.

Saturday - boat time with wife and kids, was an amazing day to be on the lake. Got home and ordered take out. Did a lot of polishing and working on the boats gel coat. Watched some TV with the wifey and then walked down to the Pub with the boys. Got home by 11, so that was good.

Sunday - everyone slept in and then we went to church. Went to the pool, then we had 18 kids at the house, which means over 40 people. We rented a HUGE water slide, so that was cool and the adults drank our faces off. Then some of the dads and I walked down to the track. They had live racing, which never happens on Sunday, so that was fun. Then we hit the Pub again. We had like 11 of us together. I got home about 1:30am. Wife wasn't too happy with my shenanigans as another wife complained to her about what time her husband got home. Good times.

9.75 out of 10. I will take off 1/4 of a point due to running out of Vodka for Moscow Mules.

Aug 16, 2021, 9:04 AM

had a couple false alarms with the wife / pregnancy so light on the drinking

Fri - cooked a steak

Sat - did yard work, watched football. first time cooking wings on the gas...smoked em for about an hour, tossed in sauce, then threw on the gas grill for about 30 minutes

Sun - played golf. tee to green again was great, can't putt for ####. lounged around with the wife

7.5/10

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Worked a lot. Some good EPL.

Aug 16, 2021, 9:06 AM

Friday - nothing much. Home. Dinner. Ted Lasso. Clarkson's Farm. Bed.

Saturday- Work. Karate. LFC! Work. Pool. Ice cold Dilly Dilly poolside. The best kind. Special time with the missus. Good dinner. TV.

Sunday - Work (hate to do it on the Lord's Day, but mule was in the ditch). Lunch. Watched THFC (lil'APM's fave) get a big win. Work(ish), more like prep for the week. Dinner. Early to bed.

8/10. I'd never complain about being blessed with work, but it did not feel like much of a weekend. Felt like fun stuff interspersed among lots of work.

Aug 16, 2021, 10:09 AM

I am getting better...well, the muscle aches and fever ended but the taste is still bland. The one thing that was significantly impacted and I didn't know - but was informed to be aware of - is my sense of smell. a few test and I realized it is totally gone. No smell of veggie soup cooking, no Vick's Vapor rub, no Irish spring soap...not even the tiny, itsy bitsy, smallest of smallest "poots" which caused more bodily alarms to go off than the actual Covid bug...and began the testing phase on my smell. BTW, please pray for Mrs. HuntClub...

I usually log 5 or maybe 6 hours of broken catnaps during a brisket cook, interspersed with alarms every 90 minutes to 2 hours to check temps and add coals and wood. Did a good bit worse this time, and was running on 2, possibly 3 hours of sleep on Saturday evening with a bunch of people over to pop's house.

Aug 16, 2021, 1:00 PM

Fri - pool with the two girls and then oldest girl stayed over and watched the little one so wife and I could go out. A few drinks and saw a little live music, and then ended up at friends house (the guy with the beer room https://www.tigernet.com/clemson-forum/message/have-i-told-yall-about-my-buddys-beer-room-29269857#29269857

More drinks and stayed out too late.

Sat - more pool with the girls. Took older one home and wife took little one to her parents - two nights in a row with no kid! Went downtown to eat, but came up empty (we are notorious late eaters, but downtown Aiken is a shidtshow when it comes to providing good service). Every place was listed as open till 10, but right at 9 o'clock, "oh we've stopped serving." Sat down and had a few beers with our Aussie friend Steve. Get home at a semi-decent hour and hit up some leftovers.

Sun - in-laws call and report that little one got sick the night before, so they are not going to take her to early mass. Get her picked up, but we are all a little under the weather. Little one and I running a low-grade fever and wife with congestion and stuffy head. Did manage to slip in some redhead things though. Pretty much laid around and did nothing all day.

Mon - little one missed first day of school due to sickness, we all slept in but finally back on the mend.

Overall, not bad/could have been a little better if not sick.

MauldinT, where are you???

Started off terrible but ended up okay.

Aug 16, 2021, 1:10 PM

Thursday: Off Friday so I'll begin here. Thought I had lost wallet. Searched the house, storage building, truck, store, couldn't find it. Feared the worst, credit/debit cards being used, Social Security number now exposed, one savings account info. exposed, etc. I was nervous and afraid at the same time. Shamefully stated out loud, "I'm losing faith in God" (spoken out of anger or frustration but still wrong). Ten year old son quickly scolded me and stated "daddy, I don't want you to die and know I'll never see you again" (referring to me not getting into Heaven). I quickly realized my stupidity. I was ashamed of myself but proud of my more mature ten year old.
Was able to cancel all cards with no damage.

Friday: Took son to Carowinds for one last trip before school. Getting into truck, looked down and found wallet stuck between the running board and truck frame (2016 F-150) The Fury was down so not as much fun. Son definitely disappointed. Rode The Intimidator. Good ride but not as much fun. Still had a great time with son. Apologized to God numerous times and asked for forgiveness.

Saturday: Took son hunting for youth day. Didn't stay in stand long due to lightening. Grilled steak and baked potato, went night swimming at club.

Sunday: Prayed for forgiveness, played with son, ate lunch with mom, took son back to his mom's :( cleaned up house, watched golf and race. Read bed.

Aug 16, 2021, 1:15 PM

Friday, worked on boat trailer brakes (because salt water) rather than take the boat out.

Saturday, finished up the trailer brakes, but went out on a friends boat instead. Met up with other friends at a marina, drank beer on a big boat. Much later, met up with an old friend who was in town, only to be followed all the way home by an IOP cop as soon as I got on the island. I guess because I was the only on on the road at 1 am.

Sunday--basically nothing all day, as it was national relaxation day. It threatened to rain all day, so I never went on out on the boat, and it never rained.

And then its today, and here I am.
