What a class act! I disagree with this move.

Pete Yanity did an outstanding job, and I am sorry to hear that he left against his own wishes.
We could have done a lot worse than Don Munson, though. I consider him a "Clemson guy" due to his longtime association with our athletic program, and know that he cares deeply about Clemson University. I think he will do a great job.

He showed more class than AD. Wondering what he is up to?

It concerns me that he has usc ties, and GT didn't seem to mourn his leaving. Don is a fine man, but his pbp in baseball is not that great, and we give him football and, I assume, basketball as well. As Bill would say, "Woohoo Mercy"!

I'm not sure but this sounds a little like a shot at somebody.

indicative of how he precedes forward from here. I have no faith in his in his future decisions until he can prove he can make a good decision. Right now I put him in the Bobby Robinson decision making camp.

He'll be fine. He probably held the job a little too long.

Not a slam against his skills. Obviously he was never going to be Jim Phillips. We'll probably have a short run with this Munson guy, then the next guy can get to work on being "The Voice," for all these young Tigers who never heard Jim.

Several emotional comments flying around here...
May 1, 2014, 12:07 PM
|
|
I have worked around Pete for most of the last decade and realize his demeanor is highly professional. He understands sports better than anyone else I know personally. Nonetheless, don't be fooled by his flattering comments regarding Clemson. He is a diehard Oklahoma Sooners fan. In my opinion as a Tigers fan who was born while listening to J.P. during the Bowden era, Pete's play-by-play voice is not easy to follow throughout a football game, especially during and immediately after exciting plays.
