Johnson is a decent defensive coach. I would hire him over several other candidates including a few past Tiger defensive coordinators, but he is solid recruiter. He is about five years away from retirement so Muscrap's tenure of failure will work out just fine!

they have a winning record nearly every year. Before Johnson they consistently went to bowl games. Now they are consistently in bowl games again after him.
In 1 year with Johnson they were 0-12.

From what I understand Ellis Johnson was the one who got many of the top recruits in the glory years for the coots. Might be a good deal for them.
