Hitchhikers Guide for the good guy gets the girl and lives happily ever after with honorable mention to Raiders of the Lost Ark and any WWII movie.
Honestly, Cowboys. I was crushed to see John Wayne killed in a movie. I hated Bruce Dern for decades over that.

But M Night Shymalan crushed a couple movie endings when he first blowed up. The Sixth Sense and Signs had great endings.

Shawshank is solid.
Here are some choices in no particular order:
-Godfather and Godfather II. I give the nod to II with Fredo on the lake. -Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid -The Sting -Saving Private Ryan -The Usual Suspects -Rosemary's Baby -Gone With the Wind -Casablanca -Bridge On the River Kwai -No Country for Old Men (Yes it is! Sit down.) -One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest -Se7en (someone already said this but ####, it's good) -Planet of the Apes (original, not the Wahlberg #### one) -The Graduate
For the best ending line of all time, it has to be Stand By Me.

But saw it on VHS as a kid and loved the multiple endings. Didn't know until recently that in the theatrical release, you would only get one ending depending on where you watched it. This created a nice little bit of fuckery with audiences across the nation.

So many choices.
For feelgood, agree with Shawshank
For tension, Empire Strikes Back, The Thing
For gut punch, Sixth Sense, Seven, Usual Suspects, Apes, and Chinatown (which still has the cringiest near-ending line in movie history)
She's my daughter TOO!
