DOGE posts a graph on its impact. Thoughts?

DOGE is highly partisan, unfortunately, and it has no one to blame but itself (or...Musk and Trump). But I for one am on the record as being "pro-DOGE" and in favor of its activities, warts and all. My argument is that yes they are using a sledgehammer instead of a scalpel, and yes that will lead to screw-ups and messes. But we've been told about thoughtful reductions in the complexity of spend reductions for years and nothing ever happens. My kid never cleans her room because it's too big of a task...pretty soon the parents come in and clean house...we step on a toy under a blanket and break it...we throw away a toy she wanted to keep by accident...oh well...we've been telling you for weeks to get it cleaned up.
Also, I suspect many people will pounce on the "non-defense" qualifier of this data. Certainly Defense spending is critical but that does not mean we don't attack other areas of spending. I consider that another attempt to do nothing...as if these dollars don't count because we haven't set the serious attention to the defense department in the first six months.
Anyway, I can't fully interpret this data beyond the general trend, which I take as positive, but welcome more informed thoughts!

There is SO MUCH WASTE.
One of my first projects I wrote was design for a generator replacement (in like kind) for the VA Hospital in Birmingham. Private sector fee would have been about $20k or so. I wrote the proposal as such. My boss laid an egg. It ended up being around $150k instead and we won the job.

DOGE is publicly hated by Democrats, bureaucrats, and NGOs that exist for money laundering / influence peddling for both partisan and bi-partisan purposes.
DOGE is privately hated by the Republicans.
DOGE will accomplish far less than it would had the government’s misuse of taxpayer money been only due to inefficiency.
Since DOGE has stumbled upon case after case of government corruption, the knives are out for DOGE.
Ridiculous attacks on DOGE activities, such as the attack that DOGE is data mining, reflects an attack which is designed to inflame ignorant people. Cross checking data systems to follow the flow of money -and- decisions that take place between key persons in different agencies are akin to what is known in the private sector as an audit.
Audits are the law for private companies and also for individuals if the government demands to conduct an audit. Yet, the government itself throws up barriers to prevent a cross-checking of one agency’s influence of money flows against another agency’s influence over that same money.
Knowing full well that DOGE’s work will expose criminal activities, including but not limited to fraud and kickbacks-back schemes, the Democrats will scream and cry, while the Republicans will furtively fail to pass legislation that will put the force of law behind DOGE’s discoveries.
