That Cade would win a Heisman this year?
Not that getting the Heisman is the main goal, but Dabo said we have 6 NFL receivers on the team. (That’s from a video posted on TigerNet Instagram and other social media)
He honestly appears as the likely candidate.
I wonder what will stop him from winning it though

Dabo was very upbeat and positive throughout the entire press conference (20+ minutes).
But, he was almost downright giddy when talking about the WR room. He said 2 or 3 times at least, "We've got six dudes!" and it was like he was trying not to smile too broadly when he said it.

Dabo definitely seems to show emotion according to level of success in practice. No reason not to I guess.
Definitely do have 6 studs though
I did not watch the video, but I guess listing them out is appropriate
Westco, Moore, Williams, Brown, Triston Smith, …
Adam Randall the 6th WR?
I didn’t watch it so I’m oblivious

Im there with ya, who is actually #5 and #6 NFL caliber WR. If Smith is #4 after Williams, maybe Brown, then give me solid #5 & #6.

Clemson cannot win the award... we are not in the B1G or esecpn conference. It is the way.

Two reasons Clemson will never have a Heisman winner if Dabo here
Mar 27, 2025, 1:41 AM
|
|
… One we are in the ACC… That has nothing to do with Dabo, but they’re not gonna give it to an ACC player anymore.
To… That was never going to allow Cade to play in a game, long enough to rack up the audacious numbers necessary for a Heisman Trophy.
Now I hope I am wrong and I would love to see a Heisman Trophy winner at Clemson, but I just can’t picture it with our current situation.

This is where my saltiness comes from when I asked how they would prevent Cade from winning it
The most likely way is probably that Cade starts a little slow and throws some picks first few games.
Even though Clemson is winning early on, Cade’s trying to find that rhythm.
And it won’t be until like November when he actually does start lighting everything up.
And by that point, some flashy stat padded player will have already ended the discussion.
Even though Cade will go on farther in the postseason and do more for his team, they already decided it back in November
Disallowing any success in the postseason to influence the voting.
They should wait until after everything to name a Heisman. It only makes logical sense that way
That would’ve fixed the Deshaun Watson snub.

If Cade had better games against SC and UL last year then maybe

he would be set up for a chance. Or at least a better game in at least one of those, preferably the coot game.
If DW nor TL couldn't win it, then I don't know if the media will allow the hype.
Cade and the defense need to show out in the opener big time in order to catch attention. If not, then the ACC is a snooze fest until the end of the season. No one pays attention to this conference.

He's already set up for a chance. He's one of the top 3-5 favorites to win it.

I think he has one or two shots to get invited

The LSU game - The CFB world has to go "Wow!"
ACC schedule... snooze fest, just no close games. Very few will watch ACC games.
ACC Championship - ball like never before. No mistakes.
Then he'll probably get invited. Do that and we've had a great year and ready for the playoffs. I'm all for it!

Dabo’s history suggests he will play the backups. I tend to agree with this. Would like to see CV get some quality playing time.

You are forgetting the CLEM-DABO FACTOR for Heisman winners
Mar 27, 2025, 9:14 AM
|
|
The “CLEM-DABO” factor states that “No player that plays for Clemson under Dabo Swinney is allowed to win the Heisman Trophy.”
PERIOD. No further explanation. Unfortunately, this is an UNWRITTEN factor, but true nonetheless.
Cade does not have a chance. They may invite him up to New York for the ceremony, but he will NOT win.
If they did invite Cade, he would be better off NOT even attending. Just tell them, “thanks, but no thanks”.

I would rather the topic never come up

As far back as I can remember (which admittedly is just to Woody Dantzler), anytime one of our QBs was mentioned on ESPN as a Heisman candidate/possibiltiy, seemed like they immediately stunk it up for a few games until the talk subsided.
Would rather not have that distraction…just focus on and win the next game.
